Video Emerges Of Diddy Beating Ex-Girlfriend Cassie

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was caught on camera beating, dragging and hurling an object at his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016.

The scandal-hit rapper, 54, who was hit with allegations including physical abuse by singer Cassie, 37, in a November 2023 lawsuit, is seen launching the brutal attack in surveillance footage taken from a Los Angeles hotel hallway.

It was obtained by CNN, which said the altercation occurred at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, California, on March 5, 2016.

The outlet reported: “The footage, compiled from multiple camera angles dated March 5, 2016, appears to show the rapper, producer and business mogul during an incident that, according to Ventura’s complaint, occurred at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.

“CNN verified the location based on publicly available photos of the former hotel’s interior.

“In the video, Ventura exits a hotel room and walks to a bank of elevators. Combs, holding a towel around his waist, runs down a hall after Ventura.

“He grabs her by the back of the neck and throws her to the floor. Still holding his towel closed with one hand, he then turns to kick her, the video shows.

“As Ventura is on the ground, Combs retrieves a purse and suitcase from the floor near the elevators.

“He turns around and kicks Ventura again as she lies motionless on the floor. About four seconds transpire between the two kicks, according to the video.

“He then briefly drags Ventura by her sweatshirt toward a room before walking away.

“Ventura is then seen slowly standing up. She gathers items from the floor and moves to pick up a phone on the hallway wall near the elevators.

“Combs, still in a towel and socks, returns. A mirror directly across from the security camera shows Combs appearing to shove Ventura.

“Seconds later, he sits down on a chair, grabs an object off a table and forcefully throws it toward Ventura.

“Combs is seen walking away, then turns toward Ventura once again when an elevator door opens and someone appears to exit.”

Cassie, who reached an undisclosed settlement with Combs after making allegations of abuse against him in 2023, declined to comment on the video obtained by CNN.

Her attorney Douglas H Wigdor, told the outlet: “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behaviour of Mr Combs. “Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”

Cassie reached an undisclosed settlement with Combs shortly after she filed her suit last year and described the hotel altercation in the complaint.

According to the filing, while the two were inside the hotel room, Combs became “extremely intoxicated and punched Ms Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye”.

It added after he fell asleep, she attempted to leave the room, but he woke up and “followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her”.

It goes on to allege: “He grabbed at her and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape.”

According to the complaint, Cassie eventually managed to get in the elevator, leave the hotel and call a cab, which took her to her apartment.

Cassie’s suit alleged Combs had paid the InterContinental $50,000 for the security footage from the incident.

Two days later, the pair – who dated on and off from 2007 to 2018 – were photographed together at the LA premiere of ‘A Perfect Match’.

Ben Brafman, an attorney for Combs, said in a statement on the day Cassie’s 2023 suit was filed: “Mr Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations.”

Since November, Combs has faced five other civil lawsuits accusing him of a range of sexual misconduct and other illegal activity.

He has denied the allegations, and the cases are still active.

Impressively, he reportedly pockets $20 million solely from “The Masked Singer.”

Known for his expansive family, Nick has fathered 12 children with six women to date, including twins with singer Mariah Carey and another set with a different partner. According to Nick, he spends over $3 million a year on his children.

    Biography

Nick Cannon, born Nicholas Scott Cannon on October 8, 1980, in San Diego, California, spent much of his childhood under the care of his grandfather.

Growing up in Lincoln Park’s Bay Vista Housing Projects, he had his share of challenges.

During his teenage years, Cannon was associated with the Lincoln Park Bloods street gang. However, he distanced himself from gang life after experiencing the loss of a close friend to violence.

From a young age, Cannon showed a knack for performance, starting at 8 years old. By age 11, he was already showcasing his comedic talents on his father’s local cable television show.

In 1998, he graduated from Monte Vista High School.

Moving to Hollywood, Cannon secured stand-up comedy gigs at venues like The Laugh Factory, The Improv, and The Comedy Store.

His breakthrough in television came with a role on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show “All That” in the mid-1990s.

Nick was part of a rap group called Da G4 Dope Bomb Squad, which had the opportunity to open for popular acts of the nineties such as LFO, 98 Degrees, Montell Jordan, and Will Smith.

    Career

Cannon’s journey began at a young age. He started his career at Nickelodeon, a place that would become synonymous with his early success.

From appearing on shows like “All That” and “The Nick Cannon Show,” he established himself as a beloved figure for a generation of kids.

This early exposure laid the groundwork for his future as a versatile entertainer.

His talents extended beyond acting. Cannon ventured into the world of music, forming the rap group Da G4 Dope Bomb Squad and releasing his self-titled debut album in 2003.

While music wasn’t his defining success, it showcased his creative drive and willingness to explore different avenues.

However, it was his foray into hosting that truly catapulted him to mainstream fame. The iconic MTV show “Wild ‘N Out,” a comedic improv series he created, became a cultural phenomenon.

The show, still running strong today, cemented his reputation as a comedic force and a master of improvisation.

Besides entertainment, Cannon has a sharp business sense. He co-founded Ncredible Entertainment, a production company responsible for many of his projects.

Additionally, he initiated his record label, N-Cannon Records, and introduced a clothing line named YRB (Young Republic Brand).

Endorsements have been instrumental in his wealth accumulation.

  • Rapper Nyashinski’s Case With Tecno Heats Up

Rapper Nyashinski’s Case With Tecno Heats Up

Nyashinski’s latest Instagram story has raised eyebrows after the rapper and vocalist directed a strongly worded message towards Tecno Kenya as the conflict between the artist and the tech giant continues to escalate.

“Your time is up. You have caused me enough distress. I want to make sure I’m the last person you will EVER mess with. Itakuwa funzo,” reads the post.

This statement comes amidst ongoing legal battles involving Nyashinski and Tecno Kenya.

The rapper whose legal name is Inyatta Nyamari Ongegu is currently embroiled in a copyright infringement case filed by Nigerian producer Sam Eliapenda Jedidah, popularly known as Sam Eli.

The case revolves around an endorsement deal Nyashinski signed with Tecno Kenya Limited in May 2023 which was worth millions of shillings.

Sam Eli accuses Nyashinski of using a song he produced, “Wach Wach,” to promote Tecno’s Camon 20 device without proper compensation.

The legal proceedings have seen Nyashinski’s defense team request additional time to furnish the court with contract documents related to the Tecno endorsement deal.

Sam Eli argued that as the producer of the song, he is entitled to 50 percent of the fortune made from the endorsement deal but his effort to contact the rapper for his fair share has remained futile.

The Nigerian says he immediately contacted Nyashinski inquiring how his composition was published without his knowledge.

But the rapper argued that he did not know that he needed to inform him of the use of the song by Tecno because as far as he was concerned, he owns 100 percent of the master rights.

In his defense statement, Nyashinski argued that the suit against him was in bad taste as it was instituted against non-parties urging the court to dismiss it with costs.

“In response to Para 9 and 10 of the Amended Plaint, the 1st Defendant avers that he is the owner of 100 percent master rights and 50 percent publishing rights to the song Wach Wach is owned by GETA International and not the 1st Defendant. The plaintiff owns 50% publishing rights to the song Wach Wach. GETA International Company Limited is not a party to this suit,” Nyashinski stated in his defence.

The musician stated that his contract with Tecno wasn’t a publishing deal as the Nigerian music producer claimed but rather one which included image rights, appearance, interviews, photo/video shoots, travel time and social media associations.

Nyashinski also argued that GETA International signed a fair use agreement with the 2nd defendant for the use of the song Wach Wach which he had every right to as a 100 percent master rights owner and 50 percent publishing right owner, this is in addition to the fact that Nyashinski appears on the advert(s).

“The 1st Defendant avers that the plaintiff is however misguided in both law and fact about what entitlements he possesses on account of 50 percent share of publishing rights to a song,” his defence argued.

  • Rap Battle: Drake Hits Back At Kendrick Lamar For Pedophile Claims

Rap Battle: Drake Hits Back At Kendrick Lamar For Pedophile Claims

Drake has released a new diss track as the rap battle with Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar continues.

The new song titled “The Heart Part 6” is a reference to Lamar’s ongoing single series.

“And we know you’re dropping 6 mins after so instead of posting my address you have a lot to address,” Drake wrote about the release.

Drake’s track responds to the two singles Lamar dropped over the weekend, Friday’s late-night “Meet the Grahams” and Saturday’s “Not Like Us.”

After Lamar aimed at Drake’s parents, son, security guard, and label affiliates, the Toronto rapper is now claiming that he intentionally fed false information to people in hopes that Lamar would unknowingly use it in a track.

“The one’s that you’re getting your stories from, they’re all clowns,” Drake raps. “We plotted for a week and then we fed you the information. A daughter that’s 11 years old, I bet he takes it.”

Drake goes on to claim that Lamar’s songs are “trauma for your own confessions” and directly states “I never been with no one under age.”

    Weekend roundup

The intensifying feud between the rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake reached new heights over the weekend, with the simultaneous release of two scathing diss tracks.

After weeks of back and forth, the new songs got personal, with allegations of domestic violence and secret children.

Drake’s track, “Family Matters”, appears to suggest that one of Lamar’s children was fathered by another man.

Lamar’s response, “Meet The Grahams”, alleges that Drake is addicted to gambling, sex, drugs and alcohol.

Drake rejects the claims as a “shambles”.

The two songs, released within minutes of each other on Saturday morning, are much darker than earlier missives in their war of words.

Drake, who is the most streamed rapper in the world, casually suggests that Lamar is a perpetrator of spousal abuse, rapping: “They hired a crisis management team/To clean up the fact that you beat on your queen.”

Outside of the song, Lamar has never been accused of any form of domestic violence.

Drake also addresses the legal aftermath of his earlier diss track, “Taylor Made Freestyle”.

The song, which used Artificial Intelligence to duplicate the voice of Tupac Shakur, was taken down after a complaint from Shakur’s estate.

In “Family Matters”, he accuses Lamar of pulling strings behind the scenes to force that outcome.

“You called the 2Pac Estate/And begged ’em to sue me and get that [expletive] down,” he says.

Lamar wasted no time in retaliating. His song, “Meet The Grahams”, arrived 20 minutes later, along with the warning: “You [messed] up the minute you called out my family’s name”.

The Compton-born rapper proceeded to call out Drake’s parents, and his six-year-old son, by name.

“Dear Adonis, I’m sorry that that man is your father,” he raps in the opening bars. “Let me be honest, it takes a man to be a man, your dad is not responsive.”

He later calls Drake a “deadbeat” and suggests he has secretly fathered another child.
Drake responded to the latter accusation with an Instagram post, stating: “Hold on, can someone find my hidden daughter and send her to me pls… These guys are in shambles”, accompanied by several laughing emojis.

Elsewhere on “Meet The Grahams”, Lamar repeats allegations that Drake has used ghostwriters instead of composing his verses, and that he has undergone plastic surgery.

Lamar also alleges that people on the payroll at Drake’s record label OVO are “sex offenders”.

The lyric appears to be a reference to Canadian rapper Baka Not Nice, who began his career as a security guard for Drake, and who was charged in 2014 with forcing a 22-year-old woman into prostitution.

The rapper, whose real name is Travis Savoury, pleaded guilty to assault, but the prostitution charges were dropped.

    Timeline of the beef

Drake and Lamar’s feud dates back to 2013 when Lamar was a relative newcomer.

During a performance at the BET Awards, he boasted that his skills had “tucked a sensitive rapper back in his pyjama clothes”. The line was interpreted as a reference to Drake, whose soul-baring blend of rap and R&B had changed the sound of hip-hop.

The feud simmered for a few years, boiling over again last year when J Cole and Drake described themselves, along with Lamar, as the “big three” of rap, on the song “First Person Shooter”.

Lamar responded with a fiery verse on the song “Like That”, declaring that there was no “big three – it’s just big me”.

Since then, both sides have released several diss tracks, with the tension continually ramping up.

The fall-out has been good for business, with both sides scoring hits in this week’s Top 40.

Universal Music Group Announces Return Of Artists To TikTok

Universal Music Group (UMG) said it had settled a dispute over royalties with TikTok and entered into a new licensing agreement with the company allowing the corporation’s artists to bring their songs back to the social platform.

“Fans on TikTok can look forward to the return of UMG’s recorded music and publishing catalogs and once again enjoy creating videos using music from some of the world’s biggest artists and songwriters as well as exciting emerging talent,” the music corporation said in a statement released.

The new agreement provides for improved pay terms for the label’s artists, new promotional opportunities for recordings and songs and industry-leading protections on artificial intelligence, the statement read.

In early February, Universal Music Group began removing songs by its artists from TikTok after negotiations to extend the expired licensing agreement failed due to a dispute over royalty payments between the parties.

In April, US pop star Taylor Swift brought her songs back to TikTok, as she owns the copyrights to her songs as part of a deal with Universal Music Group and, unlike many other musicians, has an opportunity to decide who can use her music.

In his recorded resignation speech seen by Kenya Insights, Letoo signed off by thanking his fans for the support and wished the incoming chairman well.

“I want to encourage the incoming chairman that being the head of men is not for the faint-hearted people and I want him to continue to advocate for rights of boy-child and men regardless of who they are, whether single, married, polygamous or any other status,” Letoo said.

It is not clear who will take after him but one thing is for sure, that person must be polygamous abd as for now, the only trending figure is former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya who’s swimming in the fresh waters of young Mary Biketi.

    5 Fascinating Facts About O.J Simpson’s Ex-Wife

Discover intriguing facets of Marguerite L. Whitley’s life: from her dynamic career as a businesswoman to her relationships with notable figures, delve into captivating insights about this remarkable individual.

    1. She was married to O.J Simpson for 12 years

After winning the Heisman Trophy as the nation’s top college football player, Simpson entered the NFL in 1969 with a $650,000 contract.

They moved to New York’s Amherst neighborhood. While Simpson climbed in the NFL, Whitley pursued various interests.

They had three children but faced issues. Whitley revealed in a 1995 interview that their struggles tested them.

Besides Simpson’s fame and immaturity, his infidelity and ego strained their marriage. Multiple separations followed in the early ’70s.

In the mid-’70s, Whitley initiated divorce proceedings, which were halted. By 1977, Simpson was involved with Nicole Brown, a waitress.

They separated in 1978 and divorced in 1979. Whitley received alimony and $1,500 in monthly child support.

Disputes over finances led Whitley to sue Simpson in 1981 for $26,000 in overdue child support. The legal battle lasted until 1986.

    2. Whitley and O.J met in College

In high school, Marguerite Whitley dated Al Cowlings, a close friend of Simpson. Through Cowlings, she met Simpson, and they started dating in 1965.

They fell in love and got married on June 24, 1967. Both were college students, aged 18 and 19, viewing marriage as liberating from parental control.

    3. Marguerite Whitley entered into two more marriages after divorcing O.J.

After divorcing Simpson, Whitley relocated from their Brentwood home with her children and settled in a new house in San Francisco.

It was there that she met Lewis Rudolph, a transit supervisor, and fell in love with him. They tied the knot on July 9, 1986.

However, their marriage only lasted five years, and unresolved issues led to their divorce, which was finalized on July 3, 1991.

Whitley pursued a career as an interior designer, where she met her third husband, Anthony Thomas, a furniture sales representative.

They got married on April 3, 1992. Their marriage has endured for many years, and Thomas stood by her side as she supported her ex-husband, Simpson, during his murder trial.

    4. Whitley stood by her ex-husband throughout his wife’s murder trial

Simpson dated Nicole Brown for several years before they married in February 1985. Their marriage lasted seven years before they divorced in 1992.

Despite attempts at reconciliation in 1993, they were unsuccessful.

On June 12, 1994, Nicole was found stabbed to death alongside her friend Ron Goldman outside her Brentwood home.

Simpson, the prime suspect, faced murder charges in a trial that lasted 11 months. Whitley and her children attended court to support her ex-husband.

In 1995, Whitley defended Simpson, asserting that he was incapable of committing the murders.

She also refuted LAPD officer Jim King’s claim that she had made a domestic violence call in the 1970s, where she allegedly reported Simpson for punching, choking, and pushing her.

Simpson did not deny these allegations. Eventually, he was acquitted of the double murders.

    5. She grew up in California.

Marguerite was born on March 20, 1949, in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in a family of African-American descent, but detailed information about her family remains unavailable in public records.

Marguerite attended Galileo High School. After graduating from high school, she enrolled at the University of Southern California and earned her diploma in 1967.

    Is Marguerite  Whitley still alive?

She remains alive but has kept a low profile since her involvement in Simpson’s murder trial. Previously, she lived in California, USA, but recent reports indicate that she owns a home in Fresno.
She has not granted interviews or appeared in documentaries. However, she asserts that her children maintain a good relationship with Simpson.

An American Heart Association study analyzed data from more than 430,000 adults collected over four years. Researchers found that marijuana use is linked to a significantly higher risk of heart attack and stroke, with the risk increasing with frequency of use. Daily users had a 25% higher chance of heart attack and a 42% higher chance of stroke than non-users. And the increased danger exists whether users smoke, vape or eat their cannabis products.

A 2014 study from the New England Journal of Medicine showed that nearly 10% of people who try out marijuana get hooked. That figure increases to 17% among those who first try weed in adolescence and to 25% among those who get high every day.

Marijuana is not a harmless substance, especially for adolescents whose brains have yet to fully develop. Yet teenage marijuana use is also at its highest level this century.

Studies have shown that frequent marijuana use can fundamentally alter the brain’s prefrontal cortex (our brain’s “personality center”), the cerebellum (which controls movement and balance) and the amygdala (which processes emotions and memories).

In Kenya, possession and consumption of cannabis is illegal punishable by up-to ten years in jail.

Drugs and alcohol abuse amongst youths in Kenya has in recent times escalated prompting an nationwide crackdown that is still ongoing.

  • Diddy’s Son Christian ‘King’ Combs Also Accused Of Sexual Assault

The son of rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman on a yacht during a family holiday in St Martin in 2022.

Grace O’Marcaigh says Christian “King” Combs physically and sexually assaulted her, according to a lawsuit filed in a civil court in Los Angeles on Thursday.

His father, who is facing a federal sex trafficking probe, is also named in the lawsuit for aiding the alleged assault.

Last week, Sean Combs’s properties were raided as part of the investigation.

Their lawyer, Arron Dyer, said the latest allegations were “lewd and meritless” claims made up of “manufactured lies and irrelevant facts”.

It is the latest in a string of serious sexual assault allegations against Sean Combs, and now his son.

Ms O’Marcaigh, who worked as a steward on the yacht, alleged that the luxury vessel was often crowded with intoxicated people, suspected sex workers, celebrities and drugs.

She believes that drinks served for her and other women on board may have been spiked with drugs because she saw people “falling over themselves, panicking, or passing out”, the court document states.

Sean Combs, 54, is named as a defendant in the lawsuit for “premises liability” as he chartered the luxury yacht.

The rapper “turned what was sold as a wholesome family excursion into a hedonistic environment,” the court document says.

The lawsuit claims that Christian Combs, 26, insisted that Ms O’Marcaigh drink tequila with him, and then became “violent”, grabbing her arm when she tried to leave.

She says he groped her and “proceeded to kiss her neck, face, and hands.”

The Combs’s record producer, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who has filed his own suit against Sean Combs, was recording at the time. Transcripts are included in the lawsuit.

In a separate incident, Ms O’Marcaigh alleges that Christian Combs tried to force her to perform oral sex on him in the yacht’s cinema.

She says a complaint she filed with the ship’s captain was not taken seriously, and alleges that Sean Combs paid a hefty tip to the ship’s crew to keep her complaint quiet.

As a result of the alleged attack, Ms O’Marcaigh says her long-time romantic relationship broke down and that she has developed an eating disorder and suffers from epileptic seizures.

One of the most successful music moguls in the history of rap, Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a list of sexual assault allegations from several people, including his long-time partner Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.

He denies all of the allegations.

In a statement given to Variety magazine on Friday, lawyer Aaron Dyer took aim at attorney Tyrone Blackburn, who also filed Lil Rod’s lawsuit.

“This is just another lewd and meritless claim from Tyrone Blackburn – just like what he filed in the Rodney Jones lawsuit, which he still has not served,” Mr Dyer said.

“This complaint is filled with the same kind of manufactured lies and irrelevant facts we’ve come to expect from Blackburn.

“We will be filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim.”

Diddy Documentary: Hollywood Producers Race To Release

Winston Churchill once said an optimist sees an opportunity in every difficulty and top producers seem to thrive on this.

Music mogul Sean Combs, widely known as P Diddy, has been in the news for all the wrong reasons after he was accused of multiple incidents of sexual assault.

His ex-girlfriend RnB star Cassie had also accused him of rape and assault but later divulged that they had agreed to resolve the matter amicably.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support,” said Cassie.

Diddy, on his part, said: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

While this was happening, producers around the globe had their eyes on the musician and are already working on documentaries to detail his topsy-turvy life.

According to TMZ, work has already begun in Hollywood and the UK as top documentary makers rush to detail all the civil suits and federal raids.

This was aided by the fact that the raids were on live TV and footage was readily available.

The producers have already reached out to Diddy’s dancers, ex-security guards and ex-girlfriends to get the inside story about the musician.

A fortnight ago, Federal authorities conducted raids at the homes of the American rapper and as well as his luxury properties as part of the ongoing sex trafficking investigation.

Douglas Wigdor, who represents plaintiffs Cassie and Jane Doe in legal actions against Combs, expressed support for law enforcement’s efforts saying; “We will always support law enforcement when it seeks to prosecute those that have violated the law. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct.”

Videos posted by TMZ and Fox 11 captured the intensity of the raids. In one video, federal agents could be seen flying over Combs’ California mansion.

Another video showed Combs’ sons, Justin Combs (30) and Christian ‘King’ Combs (25), being handcuffed by police and questioned outside the property.

  • Nigerian Police On Why They Can’t Arrest Popular Crossdresser, Bobrisky For Homosexual Activities

Nigerian Police On Why They Can’t Arrest Popular Crossdresser, Bobrisky For Homosexual Activities

The Nigeria Police Force has stated that it lacks enough evidence to arrest crossdressers, including Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky.

This was stated by the Force Spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi while speaking on a Channels TV programme on Tuesday, saying that crossdressers cannot be arrested by the police because they have not breached any laws in the country.

In recent times, Nigerians, particularly on social media have been calling for Bobrisky’s arrest, especially after he was controversially awarded the Best Dressed Female at a Nollywood event.

Reacting to these calls, the police spokesman alleged that cross-dressing is not yet a punishable offence in Nigeria.

He further noted that, while there may be charges that those who cross-dress are also members of the LGBTQ community, there is no concrete evidence to back it up, thus they cannot take them to court.

He said, “There are some cases that are always very difficult to prove. I’m not ruling out that we have many of them. Let us be reasonable, you can’t have someone you want to prosecute without having credible evidences against them. I have not read anywhere where crossdressing is an offence in Nigeria.

“Some of them that are into crossdressing, the allegation is that they are into something else. That’s where the problem lies. We need to have enough proof, credible evidence to prove that they are actually into that. All those offences are natural offences in Nigeria and they are punishable under our laws.”

  • Details Of Davido’s Demand Letter To K24 Over Drug Trafficking Story

Details Of Davido’s Demand Letter To K24 Over Drug Trafficking Story

Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has issued a stern cease-and-desist notice to Kenyan media company Mediamax, threatening legal action over a report that falsely claimed he was arrested at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

In a letter from his lawyers, seen by Kenya Insights, Davido, whose real name is David Adedeji Adeleke, vehemently denied allegations published on April 1st by Mediamax’s K24 brand that he was “detained at JKIA with cash and drugs in his private jet.”

The lawyers branded the report, which appeared to be an April Fool’s prank, as “baseless” and a “deliberate smear campaign” against the 31-year-old singer’s reputation. They argued it falsely portrayed him as a “narcotics user/trafficker” engaged in criminal activities.

“By labeling Davido as a controlled substance user and a criminal without any evidence or factual basis, Mediamax Network Limited has engaged in a deliberate smear campaign aimed at tarnishing our client’s character and integrity,” the letter stated.

It demanded Mediamax immediately remove the “defamatory and disparaging remarks”, cease publishing such claims, offer an unconditional public apology, admit liability, and compensate Davido for damages and costs.

“This reckless disregard for the truth demonstrates a complete lack of journalistic ethics and professional responsibility,” the lawyers wrote, giving Mediamax 48 hours to comply or face legal action for defamation.

Quoting the letter, they said: “As a reputable media organization, Mediamax Network Limited has a duty to ensure the accuracy and integrity of its reporting.”

Davido had performed at the “Raha Fest” concert in Nairobi on March 30th before the controversial report emerged on April 1st. His lawyers said it has caused “irreparable harm” to his personal and professional life as an “international megastar” with business interests across several jurisdictions.

“Our client has spent many years and extensive resources and significant energies in building his reputation to highly competitive international standards,” they added.
