  • Anthony Joshua ‘Hasn’t Found A Girlfriend’ Despite Being World Heavyweight Champion

Anthony Joshua ‘Hasn’t Found A Girlfriend’ Despite Being World Heavyweight Champion

He might but world heavyweight champion of the world but Anthony Joshua is struggling to find love and balance it with his boxing career.

With all the success he’s had as well as the fact he’s in unbelievable shape and comes across as a likeable fella – you might have thought ‘AJ’ would have no problem in the dating department.

After all, you only have to look at the slew of thirsty tweets about him on social media.

But it’s actually far from the truth as the 30-year old has opened up about his difficulties when it comes to the ladies. Joshua hasn’t yet found the one.

    Image: PA

    Image: PA

He admits being so focused on his ventures inside the ring has made it tough – though he does want someone he can grow with.

Joshua told The Sun: “I think you can date and still be a successful sportsman but it’s hard to find a balance and I would have to compromise – which I’ve not felt able to do.

“My dad never gave me advice about much. But in terms of relationships what I have learnt and what I tell my son is, it would be nice to find a high school sweetheart and to grow together because as you get older you get set in your ways.

“For me to have a relationship now means I would have to compromise and change my ways and I don’t know how easy that would be for me to do.

“So I do date but I don’t get to the stage where I actually put anyone into that position.

“I don’t have a girlfriend and I haven’t had one for a while. But as I get older I do think it would be nice to have someone, someone to grow with as well – but I honestly haven’t found anyone.”

    Image: PA

    Image: PA

Even with all the money and prestige that has come his way, Joshua still lives in the same house and prides himself on being humble.

That being said, he’s aware that he might have to do a bit more mixing with celebrities in the future. He also thinks being with someone who is also famous may be a better fit – though they would have to have their feet firmly on the grand.

“Maybe I need to get off the estate and start going to celebrity parties – maybe do something different,” he added.

“I hope I will – and probably meeting someone else who understands fame would make sense. I would hope so. But it needs to be someone down to earth, family-orientated – someone who can call my mum their second mum.

“It takes time to grow that and, as I said, now I am older I am stuck in my ways. As I get older it would be nice to bring someone into my world but it’s dependent on who and I just haven’t found someone yet.”

  • Swiss Sex Workers Allowed Back To Work, They’ll Observe Covid-19 Safety And Will Offer Only Two Positions

Swiss Sex Workers Allowed Back To Work, They’ll Observe Covid-19 Safety And Will Offer Only Two Positions

Sex workers are set to return from Covid-19 lockdown earlier than contact sports in Switzerland as minsters cite the “concept of protection” of protected sex better suited to prevent the spread of infection than martial arts.

The Alpine nation was one of the first countries in Europe to reopen shops, restaurants and schools earlier this month, and now the country’s red-light district has been given the green light to return to business as usual from June 6.

Prostitution in Switzerland is legal and a roadmap has even been introduced to help minimise the spread of coronavirus which includes advice on certain positions that maximise social distancing even in the most intimate of practices.

However, sporting activities that require ‘close and constant’ physical contact – such as judo, boxing and wrestling – will be forced to wait as its requirement of physical contact is deemed more likely to spread the disease than intercourse.

Swiss Health Minister Alain Berset announced plans to make the oldest profession one of the first to return along with public pools, cinemas and nightclubs, citing a “concept of protection” which means turning tricks will be considered more safe than a tussle on the tatami.

“There are certainly personal contacts but a concept of protection seems possible. I am well aware of the bizarre aspect of my answer,”Bloomberg reported. “To tell you the truth, erotic services could have resumed earlier.”

For regular punters, taking on measures to avoid infection might be something of a forte, but earlier in May, sex workers’ association ProKoRe released an exhaustive list of hygienic guidelines just in case.

They include urging brothel-goers to keep to the less-imaginative “doggy-style” and “cowgirl/rider” positions, to ensure faces of the two entwined in the deed are as far apart as possible.

Spontaneous public gatherings of as many as 30 people and events of no more than 300 will also be allowed in Switzerland from June 6, but whether those gatherings involve any element of explicit activity is entirely down to the participants involved.

  • 6ix9ine’s “Gooba” Music Video Removed Due to Copyright Claim By Kenya’s Magix Enga

6ix9ine’s “Gooba” Music Video Removed Due to Copyright Claim By Kenya’s Magix Enga

6ix9ine’s new “Gooba” music video has been taken down from YouTube.

On Sunday (May 31), people started noticing the video had been removed. In its place is the message: “The video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Magix Enga.” While 6ix9ine’s music video for “Gooba” has been removed, the official lyric video still remains up on the rapper’s YouTube channel.

Magix Enga is a Kenyan producer. On Sunday, he called out 6ix9ine on Instagram, claiming Tekashi sampled one of his beats without permission for “Gooba.” He posted a photo of the Brooklyn rapper along with the caption, “Don’t sample my Beats Biggest song Delete By Magix Enga ✌️??.”

The video for “Gooba,” Tekashi’s first post-prison song, broke a record when it was released on May 8, surpassing Eminem’s “Kill Shot” for the most views for a hip-hop video in 24 hours with 38.9 million—Eminem had 38.1 million views. The song currently sits at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 after peaking at No. 3. 6ix9ine was pissed off about the single not reaching No. 1 and accused Billboard of fudging its numbers so he would not come out on top. He even got into a back and forth with Ariana Grande, whose “Stuck With U” collab with Justin Bieber took the No. 1 spot. Now, the status of 6ix9ine’s hit may be up in the air.

  • Forbes Accuses Kylie Jenner Of ‘Web Of Lies’ And Strips Her Of Billionaire Status

Forbes Accuses Kylie Jenner Of ‘Web Of Lies’ And Strips Her Of Billionaire Status

Whatever you think of the Kardashians, the family have shown an impressive ability to make money. Through their reality television empire, and the doors to endorsement deals that this opened, most members of the clan have launched lucrative businesses. That includes Kylie Jenner, who has been previously heralded by Forbes as a billionaire (they added ‘self-made’, but we’ve always had an issue with that). Now, however, the publication has claimed that this status is false, and that they were misled into saying so in the first place.

In a piece titled Inside ‘Kylie Jenner’s Web Of Lies’, Forbes lays out their allegations. Their understanding of Kylie’s billionaire status stemmed partly from her sale of a 51% stake of Kylie Cosmetics to Coty. The deal was said to be worth $1.2 billion. The team have now dug deeper, however.

The piece states that ‘in the deal’s fine print, a less flattering truth emerged. Filings released by publicly traded Coty over the past six months lay bare one of the family’s best-kept secrets: Kylie’s business is significantly smaller, and less profitable, than the family has spent years leading the cosmetics industry and media outlets, including Forbes, to believe.’

The piece lists issues with profitability margins and inconsistencies in financial documents to cast doubt over their previously accepted statistics, and propose that ‘the Jenners have lied about it every year since 2016—including having their accountant draft tax returns with false numbers—to help juice Forbes’ estimates of Kylie’s earnings and net worth.’ Forbes are careful to clarify that ‘while [they] can’t prove that those documents were fake (though it’s likely), it’s clear that Kylie’s camp has been lying.’ Representatives of the family are yet to comment on the accusation.

Forbes has, therefore, proclaimed that Kylie can no longer be described as a billionaire. They do, however, concede that her net worth is estimated to stand at $900 million. Not too shabby, really.

  • Comedian Jalang’o Comes Out Clean On The ‘Boys Club’ Sex Scandal

Comedian Jalang’o Comes Out Clean On The ‘Boys Club’ Sex Scandal

    By Phelix Oduor

The past two days have been very rough for me and my close friends because of the chats from our wassp group, yes we agree that it was our group and its a group that has been there for soo many years and through the group we have achieved alot in developing ourselves in different fields more so investment which was the sole reason for the group.

The boys are not just friends but people we grew up with from childhood, went to school together and achived alot together. On the chats youve seen , no one will tell you the genesis of the chats or the previous chats but they picked what they wanted you to see, we have been judged, abused and crucified and told that we formed a boys group just to have our pleasures. We will not defend ourselves but this was just another random boys chat in a wassp group, the difference between us and you is that your chats havent leaked out but I can assure you that in most wassp groups chats about men, women, money can never miss. People have blown this out of proportion and I can assure you we are totally broken.

I have had people call me to encourage me and the boys and others calling to just condem us, we have taken this as a lesson. There is alot of malice and hate around it but we cant go there now. What really happened? Or whatx the truth? When Covid happen most of my friends closed office and I requested them to come help me build my YouTube channel, we took one of our appointments and turned into a fully fledged studio and thats where we have been shooting, occasionally we go to where our guest is or hire a place to work depending on guest request , we are always done by 2 or 3pm so we sit back and just relax have a boys time and chat, few friends have joined us too.

    ‘The Boys Club’

We went a created one of the biggest online platforms and we already had clients buying space for marketing and advertising and we were already on a roll gaining upto 10k subscribers per week! Rarely did anyone sleep at the apartment unless we had an overnight shoot or editing going on!
The lies are too many that we ourselves are reading this things on the blogs and just wondering whom they are talking about.

    1. I have not been sent to any compulsory leave, my 2 weeks annual leave began last week and ill be back on radio in 2 weeks
    2. There are videos going around , i can assure you none of them is us.
    3. That we created the group to share women amongst us, thats a lie. That day we were having a random boys chat and thats how the photos you see came up.

It is very evident that the blogger has alot against me. He started last year when he said we paid girls to come to our event, that story died when one of the girls dismissed him, he then again struck in December last year , when i questioned him he blocked me and claimed that I wanted to kill him, he has since blocked me and continues to publish my stories all the time, My friends send me screen shots from his chats, he reffers to me as that married man he doesnt like….this year he tried to write another story from Alex birthday party but since he had nothing to write he let the story die. On my birthday he threatened to block anyone who posted me on their time line, and now even without asking our side he has gone ahead and had a field day, he is happy because he gets what he wants, Clout! Nothing else.

What does it benefit you when you do all this ? The damage youve cause us can never be repaired Edgar and I assure you that were it that I was a bad person this would not have ended well, we will not sue or try to follow on anything and we will just let this pass but youve broken families, we have lost bussiness and top clients who have pulled out on us, it is ok and we understand them, no one would want to be around us now. We thank clients and friends who have stood by us by seeking to know the truth first. The truth will set us free someday for now all we have to do is try and put our heads up above this storm hoping it will soon pass.

Moving forward, we have learnt alot from this, we accept our mistakes and ask for forgiveness to anyone we offended, we ask for your prayers and guidance.
    Meanwhile The show goes on!
    God bless you.

  • How Nicholas Biwott Came To Be The ‘Total Man’

How Nicholas Biwott Came To Be The ‘Total Man’

It was actually courtesy of Kwendo Opanga (accompanying image), that Kipyator Nicholas Kiprono arap Biwott (K.N.K. Biwott), got his nickname “Total Man.” Kwendo Opanga then worked at the Nation Media Group, and had a popular well followed column in the “Sunday Nation” known as the “The week that was.” Then Kenyan President Daniel T. arap Moi abruptly disbanded the Ouko Commission of Inquiry midway in November 1991, and immediately thereafter “Karnet” i.e. “metal” i.e. Biwott, and then Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President in charge of Internal Security Hezekiah Oyugi Ogango, were arrested in connection with the murder in February 1990 of Kenya’s then Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Robert John Ouko. Biwott was relieved of his position as Energy Minister, and Oyugi Ogango was transferred to General Motors Kenya as Chairman.

Sometime in either late November 1991 or early December 1991, after their release from two week custody, Biwott attended a Church Service in his Keiyo constituency. Biwott was eager to make a point i.e. that he was still a powerful man not to be messed around, and declared in his Keiyo mother tongue as follows i.e. a direct translation to English i.e. “I am a man, a man, a Total Man, a man is a man. I will die a man in this country.”

Kwendo Opanga thereafter, in his “Sunday Nation” column “The week that was,” carried Biwott’s declaration in full, describing it as a warning. Opanga’s article went “viral” by the standards of those days, resulting in Biwott acquiring the nickname “Total Man” which survives to this day. The power of media indeed. So yes, it was none other than Kwendo Opanga who gave Biwott his nickname “Total Man” though Opanga himself does not even remember this i.e. this writer brought it to Opanga’s attention about three years ago and Opanga just laughed and said that he couldn’t remember. It must be the numerous articles he has written over the years.

    Grab of Kwendo’s profile. Courtesy.

On a related note, it is mentioned above that Biwott and Oyugi Ogango were put in police custody for two weeks, and this is courtesy of Nicholas Biwott himself i.e. in February 1988, Biwott fronted a Bill which passed into law in the 5th Parliament, increasing the duration that one could be held in police custody without being presented to a court of law with an accompanying charge sheet, from 24 hours to two weeks. There you have it i.e. Biwott frying in his own fat regarding his two week stay in police custody.

Another example. Andrew Kisa Saikwa was the Commissioner of Prisons in Kenya in the 1980s. Saikwa abolished sugar in the breakfast porridge served to prison inmates, declaring that “Prisons were not Hotels.”

Saikwa fell foul of the law, was sacked, was tried, was found guilty and was imprisoned. In his first few days in prison, Saikwa lamented that the morning porridge “had no sugar” and was tasteless. He was politely reminded that it was he who had abolished sugar in morning porridge for prison inmates. Saikwa was however lucky in the sense that many senior employees in the Kenya Prison Service, including catering staff in the Kenya Prison kitchens, owed their position and jobs to Saikwa, so exceptions were regularly made for Saikwa i.e. he regularly got porridge with sugar, and also regularly got generous pieces of meat with his meals i.e. some of Saikwa’s past actions, now came and acted in his favour and survival.

Final example. When Stanley Shapashina ole Oloitiptip was Minister for Home Affairs in Daniel T. arap Moi’s Kenya, Oloitiptip curtailed prison beddings and reduced the thickness of mattresses, declaring like Saikwa, that “Prisons were not Hotels.” Oloitiptip, like Saikwa, fell foul of the law and was imprisoned in November 1984. While in prison, Oloitiptip lamented about the spartan beddings and “thin” mattresses. Oloitiptip like Saikwa, was politely reminded.

Our utterances and actions follow us in this life, don’t they?

  • A Rare Photo Of The Kenyatta Family

A Rare Photo Of The Kenyatta Family

Kenyatta family reunion, State House Mombasa, Kenya, 14th August 1978, eight days before Jomo Kenyatta passed away on Tuesday, 22nd August 1978. Jomo Kenyatta was released from restriction in Maralal, Northern Kenya, on 14th August 1961, hence the significance of the 14th August date to the Kenyatta family.

After 14th August 1961, the Kenyatta family met for family reunions on 14th August, regularly though not annually, but it appears that the family reunion of 14th August 1978 was significant & poignant in the sense that Jomo Kenyatta appeared aware that he was about to depart e.g. Jomo’s son with his British wife Edna i.e. Peter Magana Kenyatta, flew in from the United Kingdom with his family for the 14th August 1978 Kenyatta family reunion.

And then the Executive Chairman of National Bank of Kenya (NBK) at the time i.e. Stanley Munga Githunguri, says he spoke with Jomo on telephone from Nairobi on Monday, 21st August 1978.

Githunguri had wanted to discuss Jomo Kenyatta’s personal finances & some of Jomo Kenyatta’s investments with Jomo, and Jomo, according to Githunguri, kept insisting that Githunguri go down to Mombasa that very Monday, 21st August 1978. Githunguri pleaded for time with Jomo, asking Jomo to allow him, Githunguri, to fly down to Mombasa on Wednesday, 23rd August 1978.

Githunguri could not understand why Jomo wanted him to fly down to Mombasa immediately on that Monday, 21st August 1978.

Jomo then said to Githunguri on telephone “If you do not come today (i.e. Monday, 21st August 1978), “shauri yako” i.e. “too bad for you.” Jomo then hang up the telephone on Githunguri.

Jomo Kenyatta passed away at 3.30 a.m. in the morning, Tuesday, 22nd August 1978 at State House Mombasa.

  • Safari Rally Called Off Due To Coronavirus

Safari Rally Called Off Due To Coronavirus

Kenya’s fabled Safari Rally was due to return to the WRC calendar for the first time since 2002, with the East African event scheduled as the eighth round on July 16-19 on the original WRC schedule.

However, in a statement released by the organiser on Friday, it was announced that the rally has now been deferred until 2021, with the exact date to be announced later.

The decision was jointly reached by the Government of Kenya, the FIM and WRC Promoter citing the effects of COVID-19 on “global economies, cross-border travel and mass social engagements”.

The Kenya event is the third event to be called off this year after Rally Portugal, which was originally postponed before being cancelled altogether, and Rally Chile, which was struck off the calendar back in November due to social unrest in the country.

“We will continue to prepare for the event as groundworks are already in top gear and look forward to welcoming the rally professionals, team and enthusiasts to Kenya when the event is reconvened next year,” CS Amina Mohamed, the Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Heritage and Culture in Kenya.

“Postponing the event to 2021 was not a simple decision to make however we are cognisant of the present global challenges and assure that the Safari Rally will mark a significant part of our country’s history as was intended for the next three years.”

“The organising teams continue to work hard to make sure that we deliver a world-class event,” added Koe Okudo, the Principal Secretary in-charge of sports.

“We are at an advanced stage to complete the Service Park located in Nakuru County and are in line with the set completion timelines.”

The WRC was able to complete three rounds before the pandemic, although March’s Rally Mexico was shortened by a day to allow teams to return safely to Europe.

The season is now scheduled to resume in Finland on August 6-9, although the event could be postponed until September or October subject to an evaluation in June.

A similar feasibility study on Rally New Zealand’s will take place later this month, with travel restrictions the biggest hurdle in getting the event off ground.

  • FKF: Sam Nyamweya Is A Corrupt Man

FKF: Sam Nyamweya Is A Corrupt Man

Sam Nyamweya, the former FKF Supremo presided over a corrupt, inept and incompetent body. He started on a wrong footing. Sidelining his then deputy Sam Shollei and Nairobi representative Dan Shikanda who questioned his style, competence and integrity. He wanted to surround himself with yes men and henchmen.

When he became the Chairman, Harambee Stars dropped in FIFA rankings at an alarming rate, being eclipsed by our neighbours Uganda and small countries like Rwanda.

So dire was the football situation in Kenya that, coaches couldn’t be paid their salaries in time. The then Professional footballers like Victor Mugubi Wanyama, Ayub Timbe and Arnold Origi were never refunded their ticket money.

For a National team to perform well, players must be motivated. They must be assembled in camp early enough before any major international assignment for them to gel and bond.

But they were hurriedly assembled one or two days to a match day leaving the coach with inadequate time to craft a winning line up. Players were routinely kicked out at Safaricom Kasarani Stadium and detained in hotels for non payment of lodging fees.

While foreign teams touched down on our soil four or five days before kick off, giving them ample time to acclimatize and familiarise themselves with our pitches, our National team left a few hours to kick off time. No wonder we had become the whipping boys of Africa and even regional football. Our team could not leave Wilson Airport for Cape Verde because the owners of the chartered plane insisted on being paid upfront. The boys spent the whole day at the Airport. Where was Nyamweya?

It took the intervention of the president for the team to fly out. This means that if he had not stepped in, the boys would not have travelled, giving our opponents a walkover.

This was an unacceptable abdication of duty. For the president to step in while there are officials tasked with handling football matters as well as a substantive cabinet secretary, is giving him unwarranted political mileage.

Sam Nyamweya was in the list of shame compiled by the Ethics and Anti corruption Commission (EACC). This spoke volumes about his integrity.

Mr Hussein Terry, who was a member of national executive committee (NEC) representing Coast region, presented what he termed “evidence of football corruption” to the then EACC deputy secretary Michael Mubea.

The dossier was copied to the then Cabinet Secretary for Sports Hassan Wario(was fired over corruption scandals) and to relevant parliamentary committees. The report has also been sent to Fifa, CAF and other regional football stakeholders. Terry claims that FKF is riddled with corruption.

“Following my disclosure about two weeks ago that there was financial mismanagement at FKF, I would like today to bring to the attention of the entire country that I have in my possession vital evidence to prove my allegations,” Terry told reporters.

According to the document, FKF had not indicated $410,222.20 (Sh34 million) received from Fifa, CAF and other sources in its annual financial statement presented before delegates at annual general meeting held on June 28. However, Nyamweya dismissed all allegations by Terry, adding that he was willing to co-operate with investigators.

The man was embroiled in endless wars with KPL and the branches over football administration. He was interfering with the work of Football Kenya Electoral Board with the intention of rigging the forthcoming elections. He was requesting members to pay their nomination fees to the federation account contrary to the boards directive.

In 2015, Police in Kenya recommended that three top football bosses be charged with conspiracy to defraud, Kenya’s state prosecutor said on Monday. Sam Nyamweya, Michael Esakwa and Samson Cherop of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) were being investigated over alleged fraud involving more than 153,000 euros.

The country misses the days of Matiba, Peter Kenneth and the late Joab Omino, the late 70’s and early 80’s. That was the pinnacle of Kenyan football. These were people with the game at heart. They ran the federation professionally.

Nyamweya held so much dirt on his shoulders, after what was reported as the biggest TV deal for Kenya’s national football team, it took StarTimes days to disclose that the integrity of their sponsorship of Harambee Stars has been compromised and wanted the deal renegotiated.

Many can not forget the revelation that A French company contracted by FKF to champion a bid for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) instituted legal proceedings to get their payment.

Leonard Dubreuil, who ran the INSYS International, took the unusual step to sue FKF in a bid to recover $30,000 (Sh3 million) which they had charged FKF for preparing the bid documents.

An email sent to ‘Uncle Sam’ by INSYS read in part: “…it is with deep regret that we have decided to take our case of non-payment of USD 30,000 before court. We were mandated on the 5th of September 2014 to make the bid document on behalf of Kenya for the Afcon 2017.”

Equals, Sepp Blatter and Sam Nyamweya.

    Incompetence and Corruption

Everything Nyamweya touched ended up in ash. Harambee stars were in a sorry state since he took over, routinely losing to the likes of Lesotho. The CECAFA cup which Kenya hosted in 2013 was shambolic with teams getting locked in their hotels due to non-payment of allowances. French coach Henri Michel who was invited by Nyamweya to coach Harambee stars ended up leaving after a few months once he realized that Nyamweya was never going to pay him. His successor, Adel Amrouche suffered the ignominy of being evicted from his apartment because he could not pay rent. Nyamweya was not paying him.

Nyamweya was primarily driven by a greed for money. Nobody knows what he did with the annual FIFA grant which amounts to US$ 250,000 per year (Almost Ksh 23 million).

One of the first actions he took when he became FKF chairman was to demand that all football sponsors must deposit 15% of their sponsorship money in FKF accounts. Safaricom who used to sponsor the popular Sakata ball tournament balked at the idea. Nyamweya stood his ground and a result the Sakata ball tournament ended, leaving grassroots youngstars with no avenue to showcase their skills. Copa Coca Cola, another grassroots tournament which was once thriving has basically been moribund since Nyamweya took over in 2011.

And because many future stars were discovered in such grassroots tournaments, it is fair to say that Nyamweya quite literally killed Kenya’s prospects of unearthing grassroots talent.

The source of sponsorship that Nyamweya didn’t  get his paws is the KPL sponsorship which came from broadcast partners Supersport. This was likely the reason for Nyamwey’a pushed to assert authority over the KPL.

But under Nyamweya, football was rife with corruption which meant likely that sponsorship deals.

    FIFA Independent consultant report

A report commisioned by a a FIFA auditor found that mong other things:

    1.  FIFA funds to FKF for referees was never transferred to the leagues or clubs who actually pay the referees.
    2. FKF said it would pay for the higher costs of an 18-team league but could not but show any new sponsors for doing so.
    3. That an 18 team leagues will mean reduced grants and players salaries for all KPL clubs

The auditor recommended that the league continue to be run by KPL and not FKF.

Nyamweya then flew to Zurich to meet Blatter. Soon after that meeting Blatter declared wholehearted support for Nyamweya and FKF and even declared that the technical report prepared by the FIFA auditor should be ignored. This was a classic corrupt behaviour by Blatter. Why would FIFA order a technical audit whose results should’ve been ignored?

It’s now official Sam Nyamweya will vie for the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) presidency in the upcoming polls.

Four years after he relinquished FKF’s top seat without a fight, Sam Nyamweya has announced his intent at making a comeback.

In a lengthy statement sent to newsrooms on, the veteran football administrator confirmed he will challenge incumbent Nick Mwendwa for the FKF presidency ‘in the soon coming FKF elections once the Covid-19 pandemic is contained and upon resumption of normalcy in our activities and daily operations.’

“I will be unveiling my team after consultation with our sub-branch officials who have been the engine of our success hitherto. I will continue consulting and engaging with the regional leaders in the nine distinct regions of FKF who have faithfully supported our shared aspirations and have been a source of strength and inspiration to my leadership,” he explained.

Is Nyamweya the savior of Kenya’s football that we need? Judge for yourself.

Study Shows A Huge Number Of People In Relationships Joining Dating Sites And Singles Attempting Reconnection With Exes During Covid-19

As lockdown continues, people are craving intimacy and connection in isolation — and some are going to extremes to get it.

Forty-two percent of Americans in relationships have downloaded a dating app since the start of COVID-19, according to a new study of 1,000 people in relationships not quarantining with their partner.

A shocking 52 percent of those with a partner have still signed up for dating websites in these unprecedented times.

The survey also polled 1,000 single Americans and examined the realities of romance amid a pandemic.

Dating apps aren’t the only way couples are stepping out ‒ a third of those in a relationship have reached out to an ex. Results revealed 37 percent of singles have also attempted to reconnect with an ex.

The most common methods for getting in touch with old flames were Facebook (61 percent), WhatsApp (48 percent), Twitter (47 percent) and a phone call (46 percent).

    SWNS

People in relationships were 40 percent more likely to use Instagram to sneakily slide into an ex’s DMs than a single person.

The survey, conducted by OnePoll on behalf of LELO, revealed connecting with a former partner could very well lead to a backslide.

Of those single people who reached out to an ex, one in two say it reignited a flame with that person.

Respondents in relationships who are talking to an ex might be planning on making up since 54 percent say this new connection has them catching feelings again.

With so many people seeking the comfort of former lovers, it’s no surprise that two-thirds of all respondents confessed to feeling extra lonely during COVID-19 isolation.

Sixty-seven percent admitted social distancing has even increased their cravings for physical intimacy.

The desire for romance is so strong that many are even willing to lower their standards.

Six in 10 said they would talk to someone outside their “usual type” during this time of loneliness.

With in-person dates and bar meetups out of the question, people are turning to technology to find a love connection.

Two in five (42 percent) singles have downloaded a dating app or signed up to an online dating website (41 percent).

“It’s only natural people are missing the intimacy they had prior to the pandemic. All the things we took for granted are now conspicuously missing from our lives,” said LELO’s Global Marketing Director Luka Matutinovic.

“The effect this has had on our society is most prominently visible in the new ways we seek out safe interaction and even in the ‘lowering’ of our standards in dating.

“LELO has seen an increase in sex toy sales of over 185 percent compared to the same period last year and it’s only logical — with so much alone time, separated from our present and potential loved ones, many people decide to focus on the things they can control, such as their own bodies and their own pleasure.”

Nearly three in 10 (27 percent) of singles have gone on a virtual date since the spread of COVID-19 in the US.

The average person thinks it’s acceptable to ask someone out on a virtual date three days after their first contact.

Three in four think virtual dates are good for human interaction — but are not the same as in-person dates.

In an effort to look good for the virtual date, respondents are still making an effort to clean up their quarantine selves.

Half will be washing their face and hair before a virtual meet-up and two in five will dig up a fresh shirt for the occasion.

“There will be lasting consequences to this crazy period in our lives, but when it comes to sex and pleasure, hopefully, they will be good ones,” added Matutinovic. “With so many of us turning inwards and exploring our own bodies and sexual needs, we might end up being more comfortable with ourselves, our physical and mental needs.

“Who knows, perhaps the real dialogue about sexual wellbeing and the importance of self-acceptance when it comes to sex and pleasure finally finds its way into the mainstream. It’s a battle LELO has been fighting for years.”

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino Is Now Teaching Mathematics Classes Online

Babu Owino is working overtime during this pandemic. The youthful MP has been more vocal particularly on the issue of candidates siting for the national exams this year. With education ministry affirming that the exams will go on as planned, Babu went out to say that the papers must only be surging the topics that the schools have covered as per the syllabus schedule.

Babu is on record telling the education CS Prof Magoha to first forward to his office the set papers for approval to ensure that they only conform with the coveted subjects.

Ministry has since announced that the questions will only be within the part of the syllabus covered. The MP is now taking things a step further by hosting revision classes for KCSE students. Today he was teaching mathematics covering one of the most complex topics; calculus. He will be conducting the lessons as time goes by.

Heres a cut from the class.

    Babu in class.

  • Study: People Who Do the Weed Do the Sex More

Study: People Who Do the Weed Do the Sex More

A recent study has come out suggesting that weed smokers have more sex than non weed smokers. Take that, anti-drug movement of the 80s and 90s! [Ed. note: we are not condemning anti-drug movements of the 80s and 90s]

The Skyn Condom Millennial Sex Studysurveyed a crowd of over 5,000 people, ages 18 to 34,  and concluded that 14% of those who smoke pot on a daily basis actually have sex several times a day. Furthermore, these daily pot smokers have also admitted to having more “one night stands than those who have never smoked” before.

Best part yet? These pot-smoking fornicators have the confidence of a young Harrison Ford. Or an old Harrison Ford for that matter — that guy’s a rock. An astonishing 59% of of those surveyed go on to report they are “amazing” or “very good” in bed. Interesting, but it sounds like something a horned-up pothead would say. The report coincidentally did not include information on delusions of grandeur.

The only downside to all this rampant intoxicated sex? Pot smokers are less safe than boring ol’ Sober Sallies: “Only 44% of daily marijuana smokers use condoms compared to 48% of non-smokers.” What? Jesus! Where’s the class? Hey, you know what’s even easier than buying that weed? Condoms! Rubbers! Wrap it up, you goons!

  • Harry And Meghan Blacklist UK Tabloids Over Distorted Stories

Harry And Meghan Blacklist UK Tabloids Over Distorted Stories

London (AFP) – Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have blacklisted four major British tabloid newspapers because of their reporting, in the latest escalation of their public battle with the media.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex accused The Sun, Daily Mirror, Daily Mail and Daily Express of publishing stories that were “distorted, false and invasive beyond reason”.

The couple, who have quit frontline royal duties and moved to North America, outlined their new policy of “no corroboration and zero engagement” in a scathing letter to editors of the titles.

The Guardian newspaper called it an “unprecedented attack on a large part of the media” while former tabloid bosses criticised the timing of the announcement, as the world grapples with the fall-out from the coronavirus pandemic.

    – ‘Intrusive and unfair reports’ –

Harry and Meghan have intensified their war with the media since their high-profile wedding in 2018, hitting out at what they say have been intrusive and unfair reports about them.

The prince has brought court action over allegedly intercepted voicemails and Meghan is suing over the publication of a “private” letter to her father in August 2018.

A preliminary hearing in her case against Associated Newspapers, which publishes the Mail on Sunday and MailOnline, is due to be held at the High Court in London on Friday.

Details of communications between the couple and Thomas Markle were filed in court on Monday, revealing the pair pleaded with him in text messages not to speak to the media before their wedding.

In one text message dated May 14, 2018, Harry asks him to call back and warned him that “‘going public’ will only make the situation worse”.

    – ‘Intimate thoughts and feelings’ –

Thomas Markle became the centre of a tabloid furore after allegedly staging paparazzi style photographs of himself for money.

He later dropped out of the glittering wedding ceremony at Windsor Castle on health grounds but also said he did not want to “embarrass the royal family or his daughter”.

Harry blamed the media for the furore and insisted he and his wife were not angry.

But he again cautioned: “Any speaking to the press WILL backfire, trust me Tom. Only we can help u, as we have been trying from day 1.”

Meghan’s lawyers maintain that a subsequent letter, parts of which were published in the Mail on Sunday, were “obviously private” and detailed her “intimate thoughts and feelings” about her father’s health and relationship with him at the time.

They claim the newspaper “chose to deliberately omit or suppress” parts of the letter, which “intentionally distorted or manipulated” its meaning, and gave her no warning it was due to be published.

Associated Newspapers denies the contents were private or confidential. Thomas Markle has said he felt pressured to share the letter after its contents were misrepresented in a magazine article.

    – ‘Salacious gossip’ –

Harry and Meghan’s letter to the British tabloids lays bare what they feel about newspaper coverage but insisted they were not trying to put themselves above scrutiny.

“It’s not about shutting down public conversation or censoring accurate reporting,” they said.

Instead, they said they did not want to be used as “currency for an economy of clickbait and distortion” .

More broadly, they said there was a “real human cost” of “salacious gossip” purely to sell newspapers.

The pair said their new policy did not apply to all media and they would continue to work with journalists around the world.

The Society of Editors, however, said their “actions here amount to censorship” while former Mirror and News of the World editor Piers Morgan said it smacked of self-centredness.

“Imagine thinking anyone cares about their hurt little me-me-me egos as health workers around the world are dying at work?” he tweeted.

David Yelland, a former editor of The Sun, told BBC radio the move was ill-advised, calling the letter “one of the worst pieces of communication” he had ever seen.

  • A Woman Who Drives The Dead To Their Graves Tells Her Story

Wearing green and white uniform, displaying a badge of a local church, Margret Wangari, goes about sampling coffins at a well-known dealer’s shop in Nyahururu.

She is particular on this very order; two white coffins, fit for adults, a couple who had passed on after a short illness.

She checks the firmness of the well-finished coffins, the sponge lining is intact and fit for sending off these love birds. The golden inscription on the two brown crosses are precise and accurate.

Margret Wangari, a hearse driver, decorates the hearse in preparation of a burial of a couple she had been tasked to ferry their bodies.

She is certain that the glowing wreaths would warm the gloomy faces of the bereaved. She then takes a deep breathe, gasping for air.

She clears the consignment for a well maintained white van fully decorated with blue ribbons, packed outside the shop. After the loaders are done with their work, she jumps onto the driver’s seat, ready to execute her mission.

Wangari is a hearse driver in Nyahururu Laikipia County with her head held high bravely explains to us what pushed her to the job her peers would consider weird and cynic.

Women tend to be very emotional and jobs similar to that people thinks are meant for men who are strong hearted, but a woman comes along to prove the myth wrong presenting all women in standardizing the gender equality with the slogan – “What a man can do also a woman can do better.”

“Since my mother passed away the job of my dreams became clear on my mind. I admired how those people took care of my mother’s body, and their good heart attracted me to doing this work.

“My dreams came true when the Anglican Church of Kenya [ACK] in Nyahururu believed in my effort and employed me as their Hearse driver,” Wangari explains.

Wangari who is a mother of two adults, tells us how difficult it was for her family to accept her job which they thought was not fit for her.

“My family took time before accepting my job. Others kept asking whether they could find me a better job other than hearse driving. My answer would  forever convinced them that it was the job I chose deep from my heart and no one could change that, with time they accepted  and they fully supported me,” Wangari says with a bright face.

Wangari is not only a hearse driver, she also helps the mortuary attendant in packing the corpse and also sets the coffin crane at the grave before the burial.

Wangari wearing a green and white uniform together with her work mates picks a coffin for a burial ceremony.

The energetic woman says that it was not easy, at first, before she came to adept, she feared the dead bodies to the point she ended up going for rehearsals in Nyahururu Mortuary as the mortuary attendant’s aid.

She pointedly says the jobs that people do not value nowadays are well rewarding as she explains how it has impacted her life a big.

“Since I started this job I have seen a big difference compared to other jobs I have done. I have given my children the best education that every child would dream of. The job has never disappointed me as it is satisfying my requirements, be it food or clothing,” the driver said adding that it only required courage and believing in herself to maintain the job.

To eradicate doubt in us she jubilantly drives us to the mortuary to clear her other services.

Two kilometres from the shop we arrive at the mortuary, the sombre mood that hovers the surrounding hits everyone while the red flowers from hearses would depict everything.

Wangari goes for a petrol fill up to prepare her journey to Ndogino, Laikipia County and returns to collect the two corpses.

“In this journey it is not advisable to work alone I have colleagues whom I work with and one of them is Benways coffin shop.

“We help each other with referrals, for instant when I have a customer who needs a coffin I advises them to buy from Benways and Benways does refers his customers to me,” Wangari said.

Wangari continues to discourage the youths from being choosy on what jobs to take urging them to do jobs that will help them in their daily life.

Wangari is not over with the jobs, she is a versatile woman and now drives the bodies to the church for a memorial service and later leaves to set the crane before the corpse are brought for the burial.

  • Dan Okwiri: Why Luo Women’s Butts Are Getting Smaller

Dan Okwiri: Why Luo Women’s Butts Are Getting Smaller

My study on why Luo men are getting shorter & our women losing their famed posteriors?

To the Chairman, Luo Council of Elders,
Re: Aggrievance from Dan Rodi Okwiri

Penning?my journal memoirs, am a little distraught, one of the greatest things I struggle with is diet. The food I was used to is simply almost non existent in Nyanza today. I struggle with diet. We have adopted foods that are killing our being, affecting our intellect capacity and changing our body structure.

Luo men formerly were tall, lanky and ivory black. Today they are often short, brown, pot bellied. Our women were similarly tall, dark and strutted protruding posteriors & sturdy legs had a graceful walk. Today they are short, lack posteriors & strut it on hockey sticks. It wasn’t always the case and this must be said. Imagine If we want women with great legs today we have to search for them in Western or Meru Counties. This was never the case. Some of these imports are not to easy to handle so we must fix our backyard.

The beauty of a Luo woman was the size of her posterior & great legs. Yesterday beautiful Luo woman is no more, they are now aged. Stroll around Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Rongo and you see most women wear padded inner wear to augment their posteriors, ostensibly to look beautiful. How can you strut a fake bottom? Whatever happened? It’s a shame! It’s absurd but all a question of diet.
Everywhere in Migori most of our men are short. Short men are given to being temperamental & impatience. Hop on a boda & you will precisely see these characteristics. Most of the short boda boys are short, rude and have little self confidence. All again a result of poor diet.

For those who don’t know, I would like to reiterate that “WE ARE WHAT WE EAT”. What you eat will determine how intelligent you will be? How you will look? How healthy you are?
I struggle with diet, I come from a generation of Luos who never tasted goat meat until I reached my 20s”. It just wasn’t cooked at our home. Goat meat simply wasn’t eaten in Luo Nyanza and used only for rituals.

I remember one day Dad was given a billy goat by one of his Kikuyu friends for Christmas. He simply didn’t know what to do with it. The smell was revolting. One men’s meat is another’s poison, it is said. That’s something I well believe.

Today goat meat is everywhere in Southern Nyanza. There are butcheries that exclusive sell it. People of Migori relish it. The goat innards, gut, bowels (matumbos) are barbecued and sold at a premium. The goat head is especially delicacy. Goat Soup spiked with bile & chilli is believed to be a cure for hangover.

A new disease has cropped up which in Dad’s generation & mine we never experienced called gout and many middle aged Luo men are getting afflicted. The consumption of beer washed down in gallons with roasted goat is exterminating our height genes. We are getting shorter.

Fish though plentiful is hardly consumed. I consume lots of boiled fish heads, it’s rich in Omega3, which is great food for the brain. Real men our people think consume goat. I struggle with it and often go hungry when I meet friends in social joints. Since I don’t cook the stuff, be forewarned it isn’t available in Migori Country Lodge by design and this isn’t hearsay, take it as fact.

Luo’s generally never ate fresh meat. The meat was hanged, that was to facilitate the blood to drip out. Blood if you don’t know is the cause of many diseases, it was consumed not on daily basis.
Hanged meat is always more tender cause the flesh muscles have relaxed & the stressed toxin dripped out. Everyday I go to butchery I request for hanged meat that is at least 2 days old and everyone things am nutty. Kenyans want fresh meat, and they gobble it in terms of kilos.

I wish to reiterate I grew up on “ngwen,” they are insects the Westerns call Termites. Often consumed as a snack termites are highly nutritious with high levels of protein, fats, key vitamins, and minerals. With very little or no anti-nutrient, noxious chemicals and microbial concerns, they are a great food source. Termites are richer in protein than meat. Lo & behold you will not get ngwen in Migori. How ironical yet a lakeside town?

Oily potato fries is our new snack called “chips funga”, it is even now common place even in the villages. One can get portions of this cholesterol packed snack as little as Kes 20 a portion. Everywhere & anywhere you will see ladies on the dusty roadside frying the fries in dirty jet black re-used oil in the villages.

It is rumored that they extract the oil from electricity-transformers. That’s why the transformers keep breaking down & our electricity keeps failing, without oil the transformers overheat and we are in perpetual blackout. Once again, I blame it on our diet, “chips funga” or is it “chips fungus” the bane. No wonder our kids are breaking down too.

I love smoked fish but again nowhere in Migori is it available. To get my supplies I have to go travel to Othoo in Kadem or go to Tanzania, a long journey all in the name of fish.

Don’t bother looking for smoked beef, aliya or athola, they too are just no longer available. The one thing that I still get deep in Kadem is ghee. There are 2 types the white ghee known as “mor nya Luo’ and the brown ghee “ngiende”. The sad thing is I get it from one old man, he is 82 and he started making it when he was 15 years.

Again I wonder about the continuity as the sage increasingly is unable to bring it to Migori town. He is terrified of boarding the piki bodas, the main transport system and especially since he is now frail. Soon even ghee will history.

Sadly am a dying breed, a relic of the past that still holds fort. My supplier of smoked fish is an aged lady, am not sure if her daughter will take up the trade. The consumers are simply getter fewer. Most of the young frown whilst eating smoked fish, they want bit deep fried. They love the oil, obesity is now big.

Meanwhile burnt innards (matumbo) joints are doing booming business. I sometimes wonder don’t the consumers know that the word ma’tumbo’ is derived from the word ‘stomach’ and incidentally all consumers of roasted matumbo will inevitably be pot bellied. Isn’t this a disaster if you are short?
Can anyone in the Luo Council of Elders “URGENTLY” take up & act on my findings? If they can’t, elect me Chairman, your new ‘Jakom”., I will surely address it.

Prince William Explains Why He Chose Kenya For His Proposal To Kate Middleton

On October 20, 2010 Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton his girlfriend of almost a decade during a romantic holiday in Kenya. The couple had travelled around the country before heading to Lake Rutundu, which William had decided would be the perfect place to go down on one knee with his late mother Princess Diana’s sapphire engagement ring.

Speaking at an event at Buckingham Palace last night to celebrate the United Kingdom’s relationship with Africa, William explained why he had picked Africa for proposal.

“The African continent holds a very special place in my heart. It is the place my father took my brother and me shortly after our mother died.” He said, “and when deciding where best to propose to Catherine, I could think of no more fitting place than Kenya to get down on one knee.”

Kate and William dated for seven years before getting engaged. When checking out at the cabin, the newly engaged lovebirds jotted down some  sweet notes in the lodge’s guestbook.
