Mystery Over DP Ruto’s Secret One-day Trip To Sudan

Deputy President William Ruto secretly travelled to Khartoum, Sudan, on Tuesday, a few hours before President Uhuru Kenyatta’s speech in Mombasa, insider reports now say, no details have been provided over the private one-day trip.

Ruto flew out on a private jet belonging to Phoenix Aviation, registration number 5Y-SIR from Wilson Airport with at least four close allies, among them Abdul Mwasera and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and then jetted back into the country on Wednesday at around 11 am.

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka confirmed the two briefly met at Khartoum airport but said it was coincidental and not a planned meeting. “I was on my official mission as the Special Envoy in South Sudan and we just bumped into one other with the DP at Khartoum airport,” said Kalonzo.

Kalonzo said the DP told him he was on a private mission and thereafter took a flight to another destination. “Nothing pre-planned happened. There was no meeting at all. It is a desperate attempt to say the meeting was pre-planned. The DP was in the company of Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi. Also present at the airport was Kenya’s ambassador Chris Mburu,” he said.

Ruto left hours before the president made his Cabinet changes, word has it the two have not met since he returned from Botswana. The DP had on December 23 taken a two-week New Year holiday trip to Botswana to spend time with his family.

After flying in from Botswana, he went to Nyeri to attend the burial of Martha Kirigo, mother of Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua on January 8 where he defended the president from claims he plans to stay in power after 2022. “For clarity, the party has no scheme or plan to change the constitution with the intent to take Kenya back to the dark days to have leadership concentrated in one corner of this country,” he said.

During the cabinet reshuffle the President would drop Mwangi Kiunjuri, a key Ruto ally, from the cabinet and when asked about it, gave a brief response.”The ones I haven’t mentioned …. they are either in [another] place and if they are not in place then so be it. Kenya moves on,” he stated.

Exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna sent a message of encouragement in a rare show of solidarity addressed to the Dp.

Kivutha Kibwana: I Would Obliterate Raila, Ruto In A Presidential Poll

Governor Kivutha Kibwana of Makueni County has said that in a race for the presidency, he would completely obliterate Deputy President William Ruto and Raila Odinga.

The governor who won the most Outstanding Public servant of the Year while speaking on JKlive said Kenyans were tired of being mobilized based on their ethnic groupings.

“I think yes (To beating Raila and Ruto in the polls). We have this problem of negative ethnicity & it is something that is fueled by us, the politicians…I can feel that Kenyans are getting tired of being mobilized on ethnic basis…” He said.

The governor believes he has what it takes, saying his success in pulling off people-centered development in Makueni where he is in charge speaks for him. He believes he would have the same success at the National level.

Kibwana also noted the importance of alliances in the political field but contrasted the tribal numbers game plan with what he referred to as a team with a visionary framework.

The governor brushed off claims that he is a nice guy when the host opined he was too nice and too soft to ascend to a top position. “Maybe on the surface, I look very nice, but when real things need to be done we have to do them,” Kibwana stated.

The Governor was recently in trouble for awarding Sh4 million family planning and youth empowerment tender to Nazi Kivutha, His wife.

Twitter Activists Miguna Miguna To Return To Kenya On January 11th

Deported Canada-based Kenyan scholar and lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna, who prefers to be called, General Miguna, has announced that he will return back to his motherland on the 11th of January 2022.

The ‘I am Not Boarding’ General was deported from the country last year after a mock-swearing in of Raila Odinga as the People’s President on 30th January 2018.

Yesterday, he took to Twitter to announce that he will be landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi on January 11th Next year.

General Miguna was initially deported in February last year days after his arrest by Immigration Officers who later said that Miguna, a Kenyan by birth, was in Kenya illegally after allegedly renouncing his Kenyan citizenship while acquiring a Canadian passport.

In March 2018, General Miguna attempted to return to Kenya via JKIA. His attempts were futile as he was banished and shoved in the Fly Emirates planes after spending several hours at the JKIA-based detention facility.

In December 2018, the High Court ruled that Miguna is a Kenyan by birth and holding a Canadian passport does not deny him his birthright.

Justice Chacha Mwita, while delivering his ruling declared that the State violated Miguna Miguna’s rights by forcefully deporting him and awarded him Sh7.2 million.

  • It’s Not About Age. It’s The System.

It’s Not About Age. It’s The System.

    In Kenya,

UhuRuto – Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy President William Ruto are perfect testimony of this illusion as i might prefer to it. Youngest President and Deputy President in Kenyan history, controversially elected in 2013 and again “re-elected” in 2017 serving two terms. A section of the electorates argued that their stiff competitors whom included former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka were too old to lead the country and it was time for young energetic youths to take over.

First President Jomo Kenyatta took full Presidency power on December 12, 1964 when he was 67 years of age and left power upon his demise 14 years later when he was 81years of age. Daniel Torotich Arap Moi as Vice President took over power in 1978 aged 54 and ruled for 24 years till 2002 aged 78years and between had an attempted coup in 1982. Then Mwai Kibaki took over power since 2002 aged 71years serving two terms – 10years till 2013 then retired aged 81 years. Then since 2013 upto date Uhuru Kenyatta son of Jomo Kenyatta took over power aged 52 and his Deputy Ruto aged 46 with Uhuru set to retire at 61 after serving two terms. Yeah, historical indeed!

Now lets pen down the System facts, Dennis Itumbi would call it “System ya ma-facts ”

    Economy

Country’s public debt will hit the Ksh7 trillion mark by the time President Uhuru Kenyatta leaves office in 2022.

The National Treasury in its draft Budget Review and Outlook Paper projects that Ksh2 trillion will be added to the public debt by the time President Kenyatta completes his second term in office. Currently the public debt stands at Ksh 6.7 trillion.

The former Finance Minister inherited a debt of Ksh 1.953,834.00 trillion when he took over from former President Mwai Kibaki in 2013. This means that President Kenyatta will have presided over a debt increase of almost 300% during his ten-year tenure. Since at the moment in his 6 years in power, public debt both Domestic and Foreign have increased by 4.8 trillion when President Mwai Kibaki’s 10 year term, public debt only increased by 1.3 trillion with much more fruit.

By 2022, the Jubilee administration will have presided over a borrowing spree of more than Ksh5.3 trillion in which only 60% can be fully accounted for whilst the remaining 40% looted.

Before signing the Finance Bill 2018 that was forcefully passed by the National Assembly on September 20, President Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto had put on brave faces amid pressing questions from the public and analysts on the ballooning public debt.

The president and his deputy maintained that the government was in control of what was being perceived as over borrowing at exorbitant rates before changing tune by saying that more taxes needed to be collected if the country was to realise its development agenda.

Kenya’s debt service to revenue ratio is standing at 35.8 per cent, 30.5 per cent and 33.4 per cent respectively against the threshold of 30 per cent.

Interest payment on loans is expected to increase by 46.5% per cent to Ksh600 billion ($6 billion) in 2021/22 from Ksh400 billion ($4 billion) in the revised budget of 2018/19.

According to the economists, the composition of the government’s external debt shows an increasing shift towards expensive loans from commercial banks and the Eurobond.

It is due to this carelessness that this year in 3month we’ve witnessed massive workers layoff by companies operating in Kenya due to losses, overtaxation in bid to collect more revenue to pay off the National debt. Some have shut down their operations totally.

    SocioPolitico Status.

Kenyans thought that their darkest era of political witch-hunt, arbitrary arrests, tribalism, ethnicity, nepotism, dictatorship, Government assassination ended with the retirement of Presidents Jomo Kenyatta, Moi and Kibaki. Because they thought the youthful President and his Government will be revolutionary only to find out these are the same monkeys in a different forest. The System.

Kenyans forgot power is corrupt and the commander in chief would do anything possible to sit on the throne for pride. 2013-2017 Kenya was a millitary state, budgetary location to equip the security sector was way much higher than ever before. There was too much unrest with increased corruption scandals that was unbearable for the taxpayers to remain maim. Kenyans witnessed extrajudicial killings of those who criticized State, from bloggers, businessmen likes of Jacob Juma and many more. Post election violence in 2017 that led to loss of over 200 lives because these Youths rigged elections and lived by the sword. This Post Election Violence in the minds of sound-mind Kenyan Youths who were not tribal minded then, it was uncalled for, as it would have paved way portraying youths as peaceful and mature politicians. But the system couldn’t allow that.

    In Malawi,

Malawi’s political scene, at least from 2014 is the issue of youth leadership. Youthful Atupele Muluzi contested on this agenda in 2014 elections and finished a distant fourth in an election won by the oldest candidate on the ballot, Peter Mutharika. Eventually Muluzi betrayed his own “youth agenda” and joined the Mutharika government. The System.

Muluzi says he joined Mutharika’s government because he thinks he could serve Malawians better while in the government and not outside it. Yet, those who follow Malawi politics closely will tell you that Atupele Muluzi could have gone into the alliance so that the Peter Mutharika’s government could not bother his father, Bakili the same way Bingu wa Mutharika did. Bakili Muluzi, a former State President is answering corruption charges amount to MK1.7 billion while in power and he has been in and out of the courts for the past 12 years or so.

They say that if you want to be heard, elect a man. But if you want things to be done and implemented, elect a woman.

A Government system prefers those that see no evil, say no evil and do more evil. The system

  • Exposed: 19 Secret Looting Accounts Linked To Embu’s Embattled Governor Martin Wambora

Exposed: 19 Secret Looting Accounts Linked To Embu’s Embattled Governor Martin Wambora

Embu county assembly has been trying to impeach Governor Martin Wambora since the first month he was elected in the Office. The governor who has nine-lives like a stray cat has been, fortunately for him, surviving all impeachment attempts against his reign.

However, Embu county Public Accounts and Investment Committee has released damning details after the audit report by the retired Auditor General exposed that Wambora and his cronies have been operating 19 main bank accounts with a total balance of Sh518,995,353 and 56 Danish International Development Agency Health facilities accounts with a total balance of Sh1,441,558 all totalling to Sh521,436,911.

Wambora’s key allies have been linked to suspicious 19 secret bank accounts that have been used to loot millions.

According to the committee’s chairman Phillip Nzangi report, accounts were opened and operated against Section 82 of the public finance management regulations (county government) 2015 Act. Nzangi who is the Makima MCA report reveals existence of two revenue accounts at the Runyenjes Level Four Hospital, being operated by strangers since the said signatories had been moved to other departments and/or counties and no changes had been made against the signatories.

According to the report, Wambora’s  signatories in-law made unexplained and unsupported withdrawals from the accounts amounting to Sh34,751,498 in 2017 and another Sh11,508,452 early this year. It has been established that George Muthinji, the hospital administrator was also the banking agent for the two bank accounts whose only duty was to access the bank statements.

Other suspicious accounts are Runyenjes District Hospital accounts numbers; 0114148462201 and 0114148462200  balances show that two accounts had credit balances of Sh554,289 and Sh15,814,210 as at July 24 2019. The money was not declared to the county government.

The report implicated former health accountant Ruth Ndirangu, former medical superintendent Anthony Mulu, former county director of finance Edwin Rugendo, former director for health administration Anthony Mugendi and former health accountant Musalia Eric as main culprits—all signatories to the two accounts— Wambora is using in the scam to fleece Embu.

Another fraud unearthed was when Wambora and his cronies —county executive—transferred Sh25,700,000 from Embu county treasury to Embu Youth Trust Fund account (0190264375530) at Equity Bank Embu branch comprising of Sh15,800,000 and Sh9,900,000 transferred on November 9, 2016, and April 30, 2017, respectively.

It has also emerged that Wambora cleared Sh170, 517,267 funds transfer to Embu county education support fund account number 01141408639900 held at Embu branch in respect to scholarship and bursaries. According to Edward Ouko’s audit, the said account had an unspent balance of Sh10,821,866.

The fleecing did not end there, Wambora and his alleged accomplices fraudulently procured tree seedlings worth a whopping Sh17.5 million in the 2016/2017 financial year. Kenya Forest Services on March 13, 2017, approved the deal budgeted at Sh14,499,856. However, Wambora  approved over-expenditure of Sh3,000,144.

This is the governor who is expected to improve the lives of fellow Kenyans in Embu. The learned leaders the new constitution tapped. While Kenya is still fighting illiteracy 56 years after independence, 47Million ‘fools’ have elected learned cartels that are fleecing the coffers to their deathbeds. Who will save this country?

  • DPP Haji Orders For The Arrest Of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko So Here’s What’s Happening Next

DPP Haji Orders For The Arrest Of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko So Here’s What’s Happening Next

DPP Haji has ordered for the arrest and prosecution of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and several county employees over alleged graft.

In a press briefing at his office on Friday, DPP Haji further ordered the arrest of several county employees as well as other persons of interest for receiving monies and unlawful acquisition of public property, money laundering and other economic crimes.

“Following a comprehensive investigation by the EACC and upon receiving and independently reviewing the investigation file I have found sufficient evidence to warrant prosecution and I have therefore ordered for the immediate arrest and arraignment in court of Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko,” said Haji.

DPP Haji further revealed that the Sonko case has been very challenging due to his attempts to interfere with the course of investigations as well as employing intimidation tactics including the use of goons to threaten investigating officers in the case.

“The investigations by EACC uncovered numerous instances of criminal conduct and a general disregard of the law by the governor and othes in charge,” said DPP Haji.

The DPP intimated that investigations blatantly showed that the actions of Governor Sonko and the accused persons put their interests first before the interest of the residents of Nairobi.

“This constitutes a clear and reprehensible abuse of public trust. These individuals being charged chose to break laws, actions which they must be held accountable in order to preserce the public trust,” said DPP Haji.

On September 3, 2019, Sonko was grilled at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) over alleged irregularities in garbage collection tenders worth over Ksh.160 million.

The Nairobi Governor Sonko had been summoned by the commission over graft claims in the awarding of tenders in the financial years 2017/2018 and 2018/2019.

This was after a report from the Nairobi County Assembly Public Accounts Committee revealed that Ksh.162 million paid to at least 11 contracted garbage collection firms could not be accounted for.

The report suggested that over Ksh.202 million was paid out to the firms but only Ksh.40 million was regularly spent, hence raising eye brows over the remaining Ksh.162 million.

So now the big question is what’s next for Nairobi?

A crisis looms in Nairobi City County should governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko find himself behind bars and barred from accessing his office should a precedence that has befallen two of his colleagues catch him.

Sonko leads a county without a Deputy Governor and with an embattled County Assembly Speaker who has not steered Assembly operations for a year now.

Governor Mike Sonko was recently reported to be holed up in meetings with his strategists looking for solutions to his latest headache.

This follows a 5.8 billion tax debt that could lead to prosecution of key County Officials alongside the controversial garbage tenders with a Ksh. 20 million deposit in his account

Sonko is reported to be mulling the pros and cons of appointing a Deputy Governor nominee, who would step in should he find himself charged and barred from accessing his office.

Article 182 of the constitution Sub-article 4 provides that:  “If a vacancy occurs in the of office of county governor and that of deputy county governor, or if the deputy county governor is unable to act, the speaker of the county assembly shall act as county governor.”

Should Governor Sonko be barred from accessing his office before nominating a deputy and having him or her approved by the assembly for formal appointment, questions would arise over the Speaker to act as governor.

Nairobi Speaker Beatrice Elachi was ousted from office on September 6, 2018.

It’s been one year, and even though the Employment and Labour Relations Court reinstated her in May, she has not presided a sitting of the Assembly.

Would she then ascend to the position of Acting Governor given the hostile situation she finds herself in, after being impeached by a majority of Nairobi MCAs and reinstated by the court?

Even then, Sub-article 5 of article 182 of the constitution provides that in an instance of a vacancy occurring of a governor and his or her deputy, an election to the office of county governor shall be held within 60 days after the speaker assumes office.

But the Speaker’s ascension in Sonko’s case would not be out of vacancy but inability to act caused by a court process.

In the event that Governor Sonko picks a Deputy Governor Nominee and submits the name to the Assembly, a committee chaired by the Speaker would have to be constituted to vet the nominee

The question is, would the assembly allow Speaker Elachi to constitute that panel?

If not, would the Acting Speaker Chege Mwaura chair such a panel given the cause for his election as acting speaker has since been quashed by the courts?

Governor Sonko has been without a deputy for 19 months now.

At least two false starts have been reported, having nominated Hardliner Miguna Miguna who at the time was facing deportation.

Miguna was however rejected by Elachi as not being a Jubilee member as per procedure.

Thereafter, Sonko reneged on a promise to announce a nominee to allow for consultations.

    Additional report from Citizen.

How Western Powers Bulldozed Raila-Uhuru’s Handshake

Western powers pushed Raila Odinga into mending his relationship with Uhuru Kenyatta, Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi has said.

Musalia says the former Prime Minister  March 9, 2018 Handshake was necessitated after Western powers pushed a visa cancellation drive against key members of the National Super Alliance (Nasa) and their families.

In his autobiography titled Musalia Mudavadi: Soaring Above The Storms of Passion, the unsuccessful 2013 presidential candidate says that there was no unanimity in the move by Nasa.

The handshake was also highly secretely guarded, Musalia who had met with Raila multiple times the week before the handshake was announced says he did not mention anything. The handshake then came as a suprise to him. “Unbeknown to the rest of us, Raila had entered into a conversation with Uhuru… There was not even the slightest hint that anything of this kind could be going on. The Handshake on Friday, 9, March (2018) between the two gentlemen, therefore, came as a total surprise to me.” He writes.

In the 418-page book, Musalia points out that Raila  mentioned that he had received letters of cancellation of his visas by various foreign missions to Kenya and that led to him caving in and agreeing to meet up and mend fences with his political rival.

David Ndii Throws His Weight Behind DP Ruto For Presidency

In the heated debate about BBI, the fearless and openly critic of the Kenyatta’s presidency, David Ndii, a top world ranked economist is not taking prisoners. In his latest arguments, Ndii alludes that the handshake initiative and just launched BBI report is only meant to lengthen the dynasty of the Kenyatta’s and Odinga’s. Ndii has loudly termed the report as a POLITICAL FRAUD.

Ndii whom has never hidden his hatred and criticism of Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidency, has taken a controversial side by siding with DP Ruto whom he has equally criticized. Responding to a question on an article on the Standard about Uhuru rallying a call to a new Kenya following the BBI launch, Ndii said, “Uhuru Kenyatta stole an election. Raila traded people’s quest for electoral justice for a personal, secret deal. The victims are excited by diversionary red herrings that have nothing to do with this impunity as we hurtle to another election up for stealing.”

When challenged as to why he’s supporting Ruto who’s equally an accomplice to the supposed electoral fraud with Uhuru, Ndii went all the way, “Let me be clear. The imperative for progressive forces is to send both Ruto and the dynasties home. But if God forbid we must suffer one evil let us suffer Ruto—him we have a fighting chance. If we don’t uproot the dynasties in 2022, they will enslave up to our grand children.”

Ndii was previously a NASA’s strategist where Raila was the Principal in the highly contested 2017 elections. DP Ruto has been alleged to have been linked to numerous corruption scandals in Kenya I which taxpayers billions were stolen and he’s contesting for 2022 presidency as Uhuru prepares for his exit.

Koliks: Simba Arati And Didmus Barasa Finally Make Peace And Share Light Moments In Parliament

In politics they say there are no permanent enemies or friend just common interests. After weeks and a scuffle scene in Kibra where the Kimilili MP alleged that he was attacked by guards escorting Dagoreti MP Simba Arati, the two have laid everything to rest and moving on.

Barasa was supposedly roughed up by men who were escorting the Arati as he was doing his checks in poling stations during the highly contested Kibra election.

Tanga Tanga which had McDonald Mariga as their candidate and affiliated to DP Ruto had alleged that ODM had unleashed violence on their supporters and went further to blame true loss on intimidation.

However, the assertions were watered down by President Uhuru who in his Sagana declaration speech appraised the elections even terming it as the most peaceful in recent history. DP and his brigade have since been silenced with the president’s statement and have never indulged in the violence narrative that they excessively pushed.

Arati and Barasa were on Tuesday afternoon pictured in parliament sharing light moments as a sign of having making peace and putting everything behind them. Imran Okoth was also sworn in by the house speaker to take over as the new Kibra MP after his brother Ken Okoth.

Below are the photos of the two MPs having a light moment in parliament.

Edwin Sifuna: ODM To Give Cleophas Malala A Direct Ticket If Musalia Ejects Him

The Secretary-General of Raila’s ODM Party, Edwin Sifuna, has promised to hand Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala a direct ticket should Amani National Congress expel him.

The Musalia Mudavadi-led ANC Party suspended Mr. Malala from the party on Friday for supporting the ODM candidate Bernard Imran Okoth in the November 7 Kibra by-election.

On Sunday, ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna said, while speaking during a fundraiser at Cheptulu Salvation Army in Vihiga County, that ODM had already prepared a direct ticket to hand to Mr Malala should Musalia’s Party expel him.

“Malala supported us in Kibra, ODM party will stand with him. ANC is pained after losing the by-election. They spent money and they are feeling the pinch. As the ODM secretary-general, I want to say that should they (ANC) oust you, we shall receive you,” Mr Sifuna told the Kakamega senator.

Mr Malala, who expressed his willingness to receive the ticket, said he was not afraid of a by-election. He accused the ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi of targeting him with a similar strategy as to what Osotsi went through and eventually emerged victorious.

According to Malala, he supported Mr Okoth to comfort him after losing his brother, Ken Okoth in July. He noted that the family needed support after losing one of them and wondered why his ANC Party sponsored a candidate in Kibra. The same candidate Malala alleged to be William Ruto’s side project after Mariga.

The event was also attended by Mr Malala and nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi, who has faced a similar fate in the ANC party. Osotsi asked the Kakamega senator to defy any summons by ANC Musalia’s party that a disciplinary committee is not properly constituted.

Musalia’s ANC Party Suspends Cleophas Malala For Supporting Raila And ODM

Amani National Congress Party under the leadership of Musalia Mudavadi has slapped Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala with a Suspension letter after the vocal Senator was seen in a rally supporting Raila Odinga’s ODM candidate—Kibra MP-elect— Imran Okoth.

Musalia’s Party which had also fielded ex-Raila advisor Eliud Owalo who was the second runners up after Ruto’s candidate McDonald Mariga has released a press statement announcing the suspension.

The outsmarted ANC founder Musalia Mudavadi, who’s political strategy and agenda remains unknown to even his close allies has been having it rough with the Kakamega Senator and his mate ANC nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi.

Sometimes back, for starters, I published the tussle between MaDvD, Malala and Osotsi —who alleges that he’s the original founder of ANC party and Musalia Mudavadi is just an incomer after his UDF( United Democratic Front) party terribly flopped— just like his Political agenda.

Musalia Mudavadi has declared himself the opposition Chief but all that is seen in public from him is KANU era political moves, irrelevant foreign trips that he sneaks outs to hold and baseless TV interviews with the Moi-owned Standard Media group.

The ANC Chief, who had insisted that NASA—probably one of his biggest political cause that is alleged to have been engineered by Tycoon Jimmy Wanjigi—  was not dead and his still on the steering wheel. But my searches reveal otherwise, from the official NASA Twitter, there is no single tweet or even a retweet that is promoting MaDvD- the self-proclaimed NASA founder.

Here are the latest tweets from the Coalition NASA verified account.

    Image result for malala cleophas"

Raila Odinga’s followers have also been rubbishing ANC leaders claims that he runs coalition NASA, according to them, Musalia just like William Ruto, he’s always busy blaming Raila and ODM in not only issues concerning the State but also the in-fights that have mired his Party ANC.

Image result for malala cleophas kibra"

So is Musalia Mudavadi and his ANC party serious? Honestly, no one knows—looks like even MaDvD himself doesn’t. The Party has said a couple of times that they have suspended Godfrey Osotsi from the post of Secretary-General then, they go ahead and accuse the same person they have suspended of interfering with Party affairs. Is Malala’s suspension going to stand or it’s just another kick from the already dying horse?

  • Reality Check On Tanga Tanga,You Lost And Sideshows Won’t Change Anything

Reality Check On Tanga Tanga,You Lost And Sideshows Won’t Change Anything

Political elections are not like sex that you get a second round to redeem yourself after pathetic first underperformance. In the run to the Kibra by election, DP who had fronted McDonald Mariga a celebrity figure to counter ODM’s Imran Okoth, he exuded confidence, he promised to teach Raila a lesson.

For Ruto, this was not just any other by election, this wasn’t just a constituency election, it was a national election on a weighing scale, in his head he wanted to weigh his balls against his greatest opponent and certainly the only person his political relevance hangs on, Raila.

During his campaigns that we’re overhyped by sponsored pieces, Ruto made his supporters and public at large that he was going to give Raila the biggest political thrash. You see politics is a game of perception, DP whom at one point had promised to deliver 10 international grade stadiums in Kenya and never delivered a single one was at it again in.

In Kibra, the DP and his project Mariga delivered promises that could only be delivered in a movie through the help of movie director to deliver a perfect fiction.

Word has it that the DP pumped up-to Sh200M into the Mariga campaign, for him, this wasn’t just any other constituency election, he was using it to formally launch his presidential campaigns. Even though he’s been doing it subliminally, the over ambitious DP was determined to blow the lid and bury his only opponent Raila and Kibra couldn’t have presented a better opportunity.

Media reports indicate that he put up a ‘strong’ campaign team which largely compromised of Luhya leaders like Khalwale, Barasa and Washiali this was based on the ethnic composition of the Kibra voters in which Luhyas make 40% and also why Mariga a Luhya was chosen. It was a choice based on ethnicity mentality, well politics is about strategies. In Kibra it was this.

Exuding confidence, the DP in one of his famous addresses during the Kibra campaigns which he held from his Karen home said Mariga would be declared the winner and warned any disruptions to the same saying they’ll know he’s the DP.

In a very twisted campaign strategy, the DP used his Karen home to host perceived supporters from Kibra. They referred to his home as ‘hotel’ they’d go for free food and at the end get paid. For a formal settlement and poor population, this was a jackpot, for them, they’d have a good on their table hustle free, for Ruto, he had a huge crowd for cameras. In essence, this was a fair deal.

Mariga’s campaign team had promised to deliver a win so the DP was generously funding the hot air balloon.

One thing was not right, despite Uhuru being seen on a photo op endorsing Mariga, morning much was coming back from him. Speculations have it that Ruto cleverly sneaked Mariga into statehouse through the backdoor and in a surprise move made Uhuru endorse him as jubilee candidate. After that incident, he never campaigned directly.

Instead what happened? Politicians affiliated to Uhuru like Maina Kamanda, Anne Waiguru openly campaigned for the ODM’s candidate which sent the president’s subliminal message.

Another issue untouched is the battle between IEBC and ODM. According to sources, the DP allegedly had in place an alternative voters register that was calculated to guarantee Mariga a win. This is why ODM constantly challenged the electoral commission to produce the official register. It’s unfortunate that ODM had to move to the court to compel IEBC to avail the register while it should be on a voluntary basis.

Kenya Insights is reliably informed that the NIS had gotten wind of the register games, calls were made directly to Chebukati and the right register was to be used. A rigging strategy was put in place, it had to be called off having been exposed.

Following a thunderous defeat, the Ruto’s camp have reverted to a consolation narrative that violence stopped Mariga’s‘victory’ first it’s important to note that the voter turnout was merely 60%.

Reported incidents of violence was only on Khalwale and Barasa both of whom were alleged to by bribing voters. There’s no fatal case or any case on any common voter reported in Kibra, this clearly shows the motives. In a plain view, this is a case of a kid pinched screaming out loudly as someone shot by a bazooka.

In politics, you’re either a winner, a loser or a philosopher. Ruto’s Jubilee camp have been turned to philosophers.

Facts remain that, Ruto went into Kibra with sole purpose of capturing the seat to embarrass Raila and shit him down(this would’ve done well to his 2022 campaigns). Ruto invested heavily in the campaigns and didn’t get the desired results. Despite the strong face and narratives being pushed around, the DP is a defeated man. Reports have it that he has blocked all the Mariga campaign team from his homes. DP put a great battle, he lost, DP promised to teach Raila a lesson, he ended up being the student.

  • Moses Kuria Condemns Violence Meted On Jubilee Leaders In Kibra

Moses Kuria Condemns Violence Meted On Jubilee Leaders In Kibra

While he was supporting the handshake candidate Imran Okoth, the MP for Gatundu seem to have been irked by violence meted on a section of Jubilee leaders who were affiliated to Mariga in the Kibra elections.

Former Kakamega Senator and Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa were roughed up by a section of ODM supporters who had accused them of bribing voters.

Kuria himself having been a violence proponent on opposition in the last election, has taken a sharp twist calling out the vice in Kibra. Kuria has earlier congratulated Mariga on his win.

In a strategic statement, Kuria who was at one point thought to be positioning himself as a running mate for Ruto before retracting and changing tact by declaring himself a candidate for 2022 presidency, he’s now condemning the violence that was supposedly injected in Kibra.

Sharp divisions arose in the concluded by-election in Kibra, a race that became a bed or supremacy battle. While President Uhuru formally endorsed Mariga at a Statehouse function, he never showed any clear words from that point.

While many have pointed out a division in the jubilee camp, things would come out clear when jubilee politicians affiliated to Uhuru like Maina Kamanda, Anne Waiguru, Shebesh amongst others came out to publicly declare support for ODM’s Okoth.

During the campaigns, it was clear that Uhuru’s jubilee camp was supporting Imran Okoth and Mariga was left and singled out as a Ruto’s project, something that the DP affirmed with his spirited campaigns for Mariga.

ODM through their intelligence had stipulated that there was a stiff rigging scheme in favor of Mariga and had put in place a repulsion strategy.

  • Kibra: Mariga Concedes Defeat To Imran Okoth

Kibra: Mariga Concedes Defeat To Imran Okoth

McDonald Mariga, the Jubilee candidate in the Kibra by-election has conceded defeat.

In a video call clip shared on social media, Mr Mariga thanked his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) rival, Imran Okoth, for race well fought and offered to be assistance if need be.

Mariga said that he would remain in the Jubilee Party and thanked supporters for rallying behind him.

Now the Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga can rest easy after his party retained the Kibra seat despite a spirited fight by Deputy President William to snatch it for Jubilee Party.

An ODM loss for Kibra, which Raila Odinga cast as his bedroom during heated campaigns, would have been a painful humiliation.

Raila was MP for the area for two decades when it included Langa’ta, now an independent constituency represented by Jubilee Party’s Nixon Korir.

Kibra Constituency has been the arena on which Raila and Ruto have battled in what is being termed as a rehearsal for the highly-anticipated 2022 presidential election.

Raila and Ruto pitched tent in the constituency in what is largely seen as the Deputy President’s attempt to send message to his once Pentagon colleague in 2007 General Election which led to post-election violence over alleged vote rigging.

The DP is seemingly venturing beyond his Rift Valley stronghold, seeking to make new ground and allies outside of his backyard. Raila, on the other hand, was keen to demonstrate that he still has a grip on his strongholds having lost the Ugenya and Embakasi South by-elections.

Ruto who hopes to succeed President Kenyatta in 2022 appeared to use Kibra as a test ground for his battles with Odinga, whom he perceives as his greatest political opponent.

And though his candidate may have not won, Ruto’s supporters say he succeeded in rattling Odinga’s base.

So high were the stakes that Odinga had to fly home from a trip in Nigeria to cast his vote at Old Kibra Primary School.

“We are in our bedroom. I want to urge our people to protect our bedroom against infestation by strangers and outsiders,” said Raila shortly voting.

Activities in Parliament were almost paralysed after both Jubilee and ODM politicians trooped to the slum constituency to monitor the voting which was marred with claims of voter bribery and violence.

While the DP had rallied his troops to vote for Jubilee Party candidate McDonald Mariga, the ODM leader waged an aggressive campaign in support of Benard Okoth (Imran), the brother of former MP Ken Okoth whose death in July occasioned the by-election.

Other candidates were Eliud Owalo of Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress and Khamisi Butichi of Ford Kenya.

On Thursday, police were forced to fire in the air to protect former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and MPs Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East) and Oscar Sudi (Kapsaret) from an angry mob which attempted to flash them out of a polling station.

A majority of committees in Parliament had to call off their day’s business for lack of quorum as members were in Kibra observing the by election for their respective parties.

And in the afternoon session, the quorum bell had to be rang several times to call in members for the sitting to commence.

Two key committees, Administration and National Security and the Lands committees had to call off the day’s business due to lack of quorum.

Administration and National Security committee chairman Paul Koinange said he called off the meeting as only three members were present.

“Majority of the members sent apologies as they were engaged in Kibra acting as agents for their respective parties,” Koinange said.

In the Lands Committee, the meeting ended half way after members left leaving only their chairperson, Rachael Nyamai to proceed.

Jubilee MPs in Kibra included: Korir, John Kiarie (Dagoretti South), Kamau Ichungwa (Kikuyu) and Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, while the ODM brigade was led by Simba Arati (Dagoretti North), Otiende Amollo (Rarieda), Babu Owino (Embakasi East), Junet Mohamed (Suna East), Tim Wanyonyi (Westlands) Millie Odhiambo (Suba North), Odipo Kuome (Karachuonyo) and Homa Bay County’s Gladys Wanga.

Some motions were dropped during the afternoon session as the movers were not present.

  • Boniface Mwangi: Kibra Residents, This Is Mariga For You

Boniface Mwangi: Kibra Residents, This Is Mariga For You

Pawa254 Founder and street activist Boniface Mwangi has released what KOT terms as the most factual video about Ruto’s Kibra candidate Mc Donald Mariga.

Well, as much as Kenyans have allowed themselves to be an audience for imbecility, the result and consequences of this slap in HD or as Aristotle expressed it “Tolerance and apathy are the last virtues of a dying society.

In yet another political lunacy on the people of Kibra, majority of whom- according to multiple surveys, are living below the poverty line, Ruto’s Man McDonald Mariga on Sunday, November 3, 2019, promised to follow in the area’s former Member of Parliament(MP) the late Ken Okoth to fight for the legalization of marijuana.

“Mnataka tuongelee mambo ya Shada. Shada mmeskia inacure cancer. Hio lazima tuipush. Hatutaki mambo ya shada ya kupiga watu. Muniingize bunge tuskume mambo ya shada”

This is not new to the ears of Kenyans and here is a video of the home and genesis of Mariga’s success and his hard work on ”giving back all to his community”. The video was recorded by Boniface Mwangi and shared on his Twitter account.

Well, Mariga or as I call him since he joined Jubilee via backdoor MaRIGa, also has his fans who expressed their contrary opinion about this. Here are sample tweets of Ruto’s candidate supporters.

To me, MaRIGa’s fans don’t see the sense in what Boni is saying particularly about Kenyan politics. Every politician uses Kenyans who foolishly give them time and audience to project themselves and their own agenda without, allow me to cuss on my opinion—giving a fuck— about what is happening or happens to the ordinary citizen.

Republics decline into democracies that later generate despotism, this is the effects of trying to make unequal thing equal my fellow Kenyans.

  • Ruto’s Cash Crunch And Political Nightmare

Ruto’s Cash Crunch And Political Nightmare

The Billionaire hustler who says, I don’t know and don’t ask me how is extra generous, William Ruto is not only in a political pit but also facing a financial dry patch. His ‘charitable’ donations in public functions and handouts to politicians have been slashed to almost, if it had percentage-90%, with Tanga Tanga MPs being the most affected.

Every Friday, Ruto’s Karen home will be filled by broke and politically non-viable MPs and irrelevant political analyst to get a slice of Ruto’s huge donations and millions as their weekend allowances.

“Ruto is not rich as may think, but he likes when people imagine that he is wealthy. Apart from brokering international tenders to Chinese firms at a percentage and getting millions from Asians most of them who have divorced him after the fallout with Uhuru and his kitchen cabinet, not much is known of Ruto investments that can effectively raise 2022 campaign funds,”  anonymous media source said.

The DP is in a deep financial crisis, I mean, we all know his friends are just there for the bag and don’t care what happens to him afterwards. The Hotel investor has since disposed off Easton residential apartment along Jogoo road.

Not just that, the development of DP’s Dolphine Hotel on the shores of the Indian Ocean, the Hotel associated with the Weston Hotels chain has also stalled. NEMA is also on his neck and fighting for its demolition.

Also, DP’s palatial house in Moiben, Uasin Gishu has stalled too. It is not clear whether it is because of the cash crunch but, probably is because the project is said to be worth Billions of shillings. According to Weekly Citizen, the materials that were being used in the construction were being delivered by those involved in dam construction and with the, everything came to a standstill.

Ruto has also fired over 300 employees who were in the ofMoiben palace and those in his avocado plantation in the 1200-acre Moiben farm.

During the early days before he was elected alongside Uhuru in 2013, Africa Merchant Assurance Company (Amaco) was pivotal in sorting his finances. It has emerged that Ruto sold his stakes in the insurance firm that he created in 2000 with his friend Silas Simotwo.

A few months ago, Ruto who accumulated up to four helicopters that were based at the Wilson Airport sold two of the Eurocopter’s to Energy CS Charles Keter and Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri. Sources state that the two are still paying him in instalments.

    Image result for ruto chopper"

Ruto’s Mediamaxx Company that runs K24 and Kameme and other stations has laid off more than 150 workers. The firm he co-owns with Uhuru who seems to be unbothered about its operations.

Politically, Ruto’s cash crunch is being portrayed openly in the Kibra by-election that is set to happen on Thursday 7th Nov. The DP had asked Tanga Tanga MPs to act as agents for Jubilee candidate Macdonald Mariga but some slumped stating that they would only be agents if they get paid.

Ruto only speaks when his pockets are full. His political ambitions are pocket driven and he has no political fan base expect around 30 legislators who have decided to use their pockets to think instead of their brains.

“Baba I’m very disappointed with your statement. Kambas are patient and loyal but we will not be taken for granted under any circumstance. We supported you for 10 years and you should respect my community” She twitted.

The AU Special envoy was speaking during a campaign rally in support of ODM’s Kibra candidate Imran Okoth. Kibra by-election will be on 7th November 2019 after the former immediate MP Ken Okoth succumbed to cancer

David Ndii: Miguna Miguna Is A Deep State Mouth Assassin

David Ndii, a leading Kenyan Economist and public intellectual has slammed Dr Miguna Miguna, a Canada based Kenyan, Pan-African revolutionary intellectual, Lawyer, Writer who claims to be fighting for justice using words, facts, and truths on Twitter that he is a mouth assassin of Kenya’s most lethal deep State.

David Ndii was responding to tweets that the self-declared revolutionary leaders Miguna Miguna had posted earlier in the day poking more holes into what transpired event by another until he was ejected from the country in front of His former people’s president Raila Odinga.

On responding to what the senior Economist had posted earlier about him, Dr. Miguna said that David Ndii, Raila Odinga, Jimmy Wanjigi and George Mboya went behind his back and snitched him to Kenya Police. According to Miguna, they gave Police evidence that saw him deported from Kenya to Canada.
