Revealed: Nandi Governor’s Brother Has Been Earning Sh123,000 Monthly Salary As A Ghost Worker

Hillary Kimeli, the brother of Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has been arrested during a crackdown on ghost workers in the county.

This was revealed during an interview with Peter Ochieng Ogola, a Criminal Investigation Officer (CCIO) with the DCI Kenya.

Hillary who is an employee of Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), was reportedly earning Ksh123,000 per month while also holding a Ksh5.9 million loan from the bank.

Ogola explained that their investigations revealed a conspiracy involving some county government officers who have been illegally upgrading themselves to higher job groups without following proper procedures.

This organized crime also involved collusion with members of the Nandi County Government Service Board, who were unlawfully employing individuals by issuing fraudulent letters purportedly from the county government.

Currently, there are nearly 1,000 ghost workers on the Nandi County payroll who are receiving salaries without actually working.

So far, five individuals have been arrested and will face charges of conspiracy to defraud and abuse of office.

Ogola emphasized that they have gathered substantial evidence against the individuals, and further arrests are likely as the investigation continues.
