ODPP Oppose Mike Sonko’s Bail Application In Sh357 Million Case

Haji led ODPP which is leading the prosecution in Sh357 million fraud case has thwarted Governor Sonko bail application but has no objection to the release of the other accused persons on bail.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was today arraigned before Anti-Corruption Court Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti at the Mlimani Law Courts and charged alongside eight other Nairobi County Government officers believed to have benefited from the irregular procurement payment of over Ksh.357 million.

Sonko, who has since pleaded not guilty and his co-accused were charged with deceiving principal, money laundering, acquisition of proceeds of crime, corruption, failure to comply with procurement laws, conflict of interest, abuse of office and unlawful acquisition of public property. Here are the battery 12 lawyers that will represent the embattled governor. They all pleaded not guilty to the charges.

This site has also published the cartels that EACC has flagged and charged. The controversial City Hall figures and directors of companies that have been doing business with the Nairobi county. It’s totally a shame to see Kenya’s capital county is in leadership quagmire.

  • EACC After Mike Sonko’s City Hall Cartels

EACC After Mike Sonko’s City Hall Cartels

EACC has flagged Nairobi City Hall cartels that have been incubated by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko since he was elected in the office.

The embattled Governor has battalions of dubious businessmen who are minting millions from dealings that are the subject of investigations with EACC investigations.

The same governor who has been chest thumping—since his campaign days—of being anti-cartel is running a county full of cartels. According to DCI and EACC, Sonko’s shady tenderprenuers have been depositing millions of cash, believed to be kickbacks, into Sonko’s accounts.

Almost, if not all, individuals listed to be charged alongside the governor over the Sh537 million corruption scandal are his long-time associates who double up as his partner, friends and all doing business with Nairobi County  Government.

Among those on the list of cartels that EACC is after is the director ROG Security Limited, Arab Auto Limited, High Energy Limited and High Energy Petroleum Limited, Anthony Otieno Ombok.

Ombok is on the anti-graft watchdog over his close links with the governor that has seen Nairobi lose millions of shillings. He’s the chairman of Eastlands-based ROG SACCO and was temporarily appointed by the governor as his communications adviser in 2017 shortly after his election. The governor has a huge interest in the Cartel-filled matatu industry too.

Also on the list is Anthony Mwaura Ng’ang’a, the controversial millionaire in 2017 when EACC detectives filed a case in court over the unexplained wealth of Mr Stanley Mombo Amuti, a former financial controller at the National Water Conservation and Pipeline Corporation.

Ng’ang’a, in an elaborate scheme that is similar to the one in 2017, EACC says the director of Hardi Enterprises Limited and Toddy Civil Engineering Limited wired cash to the personal accounts of Mr Sonko after winning tenders in Nairobi County.

East Africa Legislative Assembly (Eala) MP Simon Mbugua and controversial businessman Paul Kobia are also listed as cartels running under Sonko. The Two were also present at Wilson Airport in solidarity with Mike Sonko following his arrest.

Kobia has in the past been named and investigated over various gold frauds while Mbugua , on the other hand, is a common figure at City hall and calls the shots despite not being an employee of the county government.

Mike Mbuvi Sonko and his six co-accused will be charged at the Anti Corruption Court in Milimani, Nairobi today, Monday, 9th Dec.

He’s also expected to appear before the Voi Law Courts, Taita Taveta County later today morning to answer to charges of assault. According to police sources, the governor will be flown to Voi in the morning to take plea in a case where he is accused of assaulting Coast regional police commander Rashid Yakub.

Court Suspends Sonko’s Revised Parking Fees

Big win for COFEK after the High Court ordered immediate suspension of the enforcement of revised parking fees by the Nairobi County pending the hearing. On Tuesday, Sonko-led Nairobi County government announced changes in the parking fees. According to the changes that were effective as from Wednesday, motorist were required to pay Ksh400 to park in the Nairobi CBD.

Yesterday, Justice James Makau said the new rates will remain suspended pending further directions by the court which is slated to convene on January 21 for a hearing.

    While seeking the conservatory order,

COFEK has petitioned against the new tariffs urging that Nairobi City County did not give motorists adequate time before effecting the changes. Cofek also argued it was unfair that the public wasn’t notified when the Finance Act was enacted into law on September 25.

“You will be usurping the role of Nairobi County Assembly if you suspend the notice,” Nairobi County Government Lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui had asked the court to decline Cofek’s petition stating that the executive was enforcing a law enacted by the legislative assembly.

SONKONOMICS: Nairobi County Divides And Doubles City Parking Fees

Yesterday, Sonko-led Nairobi County government announced changes in the parking fees. As from tomorrow (Wednesday), motorist will be paying Kshs400 to park in the Nairobi CBD.

According to a notice issued by the county Director of Parking Services Tom Tinega, the new parking fees were as a result of the enhancement into the law of the finance Act of 2019, which introduced new tax measures aimed at maximizing the government revenue

Tinega said that the county has also divided the parking areas into three zones. Zone One includes the City Center and Kijabe which will attract a parking fee of Kshs400 per day.

Zone two which includes Upperhill, Ngara, Highridge, Industrial area, Westlands, Kilimani, Gigiri, Yaya Center, Mwiki, Madaraka, Lang`ata, Allsops, Dagoreti, Community, Kawangware, Makadara, Buru Buru, Umoja, Kayole, Emakassi, Donholm, Muthaiga, Hurlingham, Lavington, Karen, Eastleigh, South B, South C, Kangemi, Milimani, Kangemi, and Nairobi West will be charged Kshs200 per day for parking.

According to the Sonko led administration, motorists will be charged Kshs100 in other commercial centers which are not included in zone 1 or zone 2. On the same note, buses that are not used for public transport will be charged Kshs1000 per day.

“Kindly note that you will be required to top up the parking fee payment if migrating to a zone with a higher charge as will be applicable,” reads the notice.

This has been a norm for Sonko when he has charges or an active case he’s entangled in. The administration hike the parking fees then the ‘mtetezi’ governor comes and orders for immediate changes. Sonko should be making the City simple to use, clean, and easy to access not creating colonial-like zones on how to tax city dwellers and hustlers.

Just Like Uhuru: Sonko-Led Nairobi County Has 86 Percent Aged Workforce

In an exclusive biometric report released yesterday, half of Mike Sonko’s Nairobi County government employees are over 50 years old. In fact, most are supposed to be retiring as soon as next year.

The report which had been delayed for more than four months now revealed that 5, 709 out of 11,603 City Hall workers are aged 50 years and above. The report also stated that 19 employees that are above 60 years(retirement age) are still on the payroll.

Interestingly, the report further revealed that only 792 of the employees are below the age of 35. Sonko who is always chest-thumping on how he’s youth is running a government that has only 14 percent of youths of his entire workforce.

A total of 2, 712 workers are aged between 55 and 59 years; those aged between 50 and 54 years are 2, 978 while another 2, 663 are in the age bracket of between 45 and 49 years.

1, 757 are aged between 40 and 44 years while those below the 40-year mark are only 1, 474 where 682 are between 35 and 39 years.

The report states that 621 are aged between 30 and 34 years while only 171 are below the age of 30.

While releasing the report, City Hall acting County Secretary Leboo Morintat said that more than half of the workforce is made up of females accounting for 6,118 against 5, 485 males.

Yesterday, Kenya Insights published this article where Treasury CS Ukur Yattani has been quoted admitting that ghost workers have been exorcised by both governments.

Ghost Workers Exorcised, Treasury CS Admits

Morintat also noted that the Sonko-led county could not account for 385 workers on the payroll that was registered in April this year. City Hall’s payroll as of April 2019 indicated that there were 11,988 employees yet the biometric report has captured 11,603.

Sonko Offers Help To The Family Of Mariam And Daughter Amanda

Yesterday, Miko Mbuvi Sonko, the Nairobi Governor said that he will transport the bodies of Likoni tragedy victims from Mombasa to Makueni via Road today.

Mike Sonko announced this through his communications director Jacob Elkanah, who said the plans are already underway and the hearse was already set at Jocham Hospital  Mortuary in Mombasa.

“We have agreed with those in charge of the burial arrangements to transport the bodies and play any other possible role in the burial arrangements,” Jacob said also noting that Sonko plans to attend the burial.

Elkanah further announced that Mike Sonko had charitably donated to the funeral arrangements. This comes after Kenya Ferry Service had sent a sh200K cheque to the family of the late Mariam and Amanda.

John Wambua, husband to Mariam Kighenda and her 4-year-old daughter Amanda Mutheu. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Thursday, October 17 offered to transport the bodies of his wife and child from Mombasa to Makueni.
John Wambua, husband to (now the late) Mariam Kighenda and father to 4-year-old daughter Amanda Mutheu.

Mariam’s husband, John Wambua, appreciated Sonko’s support as he grieved his family.

“Sonko has not only helped me but the whole society. We are very appreciative and only God will reward him,” Wambua said.

Makueni County Governor Kivutha Kibwana on October 12 also offered his personal contribution, in the process disclosing that the bodies will be moved to the county for burial.

The bodies of Kighenda and Mutheu were retrieved from the ocean bed last Friday, October 11, after staying submerged in the Indian Ocean for 13 days.

Kighenda and her daughter Amanda died after their vehicle, a Toyota Isis, slid off MV Harambee on the Likoni Ferry channel on September 29 and plunged 58 meters into the ocean bed.

Mariam’s family said Wednesday that after burying their loved ones, they will sue the Kenya Ferry Services Limited for negligence.

“We are, currently, continuing with burial plans. Once we have laid our loved ones to rest, we will institute legal action against the Kenya Ferry Services Limited,” Mbaati said.

Government’s chief pathologist, Dr. Johansen Oduor, said that the two died of asphyxia – a condition arising when the body is deprived of oxygen.

“I can confirm that Kighenda and Mutheu died as a result of lack of oxygen in their bodies. None of them suffered any physical injury. We’ll now hand over the report to police so that they can continue with their investigations,” Dr Oduor on said Wednesday after a postmortem exercise at Jocham Hospital in Mombasa.

Charles Onyango, Likoni Lead detective said that they have commenced investigations into the death of the two.

“We are yet to question Kenya Ferry Services managing director, Bakari Gowa, in regard to the mother-and-daughter’s deaths. However, we have lined him up for interrogation,” said Onyango.

In what is perceived as a quick response to the mess and a fix to say so, President Uhuru Kenyatta in a Wednesday, October 16, Gazette Notice Number 9833 stated that Kenya Ferry Services Limited chairperson Dan Mwazo had been dismissed with immediate effect.

Naima Amir, Philip Ndolo, Rosina Mruttu and Daula Omar were also axed from non-executive board members of the Kenya Ferry Services Limited.

  • Crisis Looms In Nairobi County As Governor Sonko And Majority Leader Guyo Face Corruption Charges

Crisis Looms In Nairobi County As Governor Sonko And Majority Leader Guyo Face Corruption Charges

NAIROBI County government is headed for rough times and leadership vacuum as EACC is poised to arraign Governor Sonko in court over corruption. Sonko is expected to face charges over the award of tenders for collection and disposal of garbage within the city.

The governor is suspected to have corruptly awarded the tenders to his cronies, who later paid bribes to him. EACC is also investigating how money from the bank accounts of the garbage collection companies ended up in Sonko’s private bank accounts.

Also implicated in the scam is the Nairobi County Majority Leader Abdi Guyo who, sources have intimated, will be charged alongside Sonko. Investigators have found a direct link between Guyo and Flexilease Limited, one of the garbage collection companies implicated in the scandal.

Flexilease is being investigated for receiving payments for services not delivered and making the Nairobi County government pay for ghost workers. Guyo, a close ally of National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, is also being investigated over a scam involving public toilets in the city. He is accused of working with shadowy businessman identified as Abbas Khalifa to grab all public toilets.

According to sources close to the investigations, Guyo and Abbas pocket at least Shs 1 million each every week from the public toilets. Investigators are also probing the source of Guyo’s sudden wealth. He is said to be building a huge shopping mall in Isiolo.

Management of Nairobi County affairs will be imperiled when Sonko and Guyo are finally charged with the court. With the recent court ruling, both leaders would be suspended from office. Sonko has refused to name a deputy governor since Polycarp Igathe resigned last year.

In the absence of the governor and deputy governor, the constitution stipulates that the County speaker takes over in acting capacity. There is no clear indication who is the legally recognized Nairobi county speaker. While High court reinstated Speaker Beatrice Elachi, Guyo and his MCAs have blocked her return to the county assembly

  • And Just Where Is Governor Sonko

And Just Where Is Governor Sonko

The mouthy son of Kamba land and Kenya’s number one thot patroller, who unfortunately or should I just say luckily had connections in Jubilee that made him become the Nairobi Governor, has gone missing in action for quite a while.

Sonko ako wapi? Sonko can never stay quiet for this long! Is he outside the country? Is he sick? or just what’s going on? Nobody clearly knows where Mike Sonko is And what he is going through. He no longer updates Nairobians on where his “boys” are cleaning the City. A once mouthy Governor who couldn’t keep his fave and presence on social media has committed a media suicide.

Sonko has gone totally offline and his whereabouts are and remain unknown and he never showed up to his father’s 3rd anniversary where he was to name his Deputy governor.

Sonko troubles started when Bank statements in the possession of DCI indicated that on April 7, 2017, Mr. Mwaura, through his company Toddy, made a transfer of Sh600,000 to Sonko’s KCB account. Then on April 19, four months before Mr. Sonko became governor, Mwaura made another cash deposit of Sh1 million to Sonko’s KCB account.

A few weeks later, on May 5, 2017, he made another cash deposit of Sh1 million to the same account belonging to the governor. On December 14, last year, Mwaura, through Toddy Ltd, liquidated Sh80 million from his fixed deposit account. On the same day, he moved Sh20 million to his other firm, Hardi Enterprise Limited. Hardi is the company that later won the tender to collect garbage on behalf of the county.

Three days later, from the proceeds of the monies from the fixed deposit account, Toddy Ltd transferred Sh3 million to Sonko’s Equity account. During questioning, Mr. Mwaura told investigators that the deposits were for a piece of land in Kwale belonging to the governor that one of his companies had acquired wayleave for a project.

The problem did not just end here, as Sonko who also was linked to a huge drug cartel and narcotics kingpin in Coast parts of Kenya and running the same on Nairobi’s streets. Using his Sonko Rescue Team, a team that city residents allege is full of crooks and street thieves that threaten and terrorize citizens and Sonko critics.

Another case on Mike Sonko’s throat is that of Mavoko Land. According to DCI, one Mr. Ombok made a deposit of Sh600,000 to governor Sonko’s KCB account on April 27, 2017, through his company Arbab. It appears that several months later after Mr. Sonko assumed office, the two continued to transact.

On January 19, for instance, one of Mr. Ombok’s companies, ROG enterprises, made deposits of Sh3 million to Mr. Sonko’s DTB account. During interrogation, Mr. Ombok said the payment was for a Sh34 million plot in Mavoko that he had sold to the governor. Although Arbab does not work directly for the county, investigators are keen to know the nature of business between the firm and Amaco since some of the deposits made into Mr. Sonko’s accounts from Arbab were made at times close to when the company received money from Amaco. Arbab is contracted by Amaco to repair vehicles.

Just as you think things are settling down, Another scandal erupts and this time around, it is believed that this is what has made the governor switch off his phones and decided to ghost and go MIA till nobody knows when.

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission detectives have now put Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on the frying pan after he allegedly pocketed Sh20 million from a remunerative garbage collection contract involving Nairobi County government.

According to EACC, some of the firms that won the Sh357 million tender wired more than Sh20 million to Sonko’s personal bank accounts in what is now believed to be kickbacks.

EACC has also revealed that the money transactions were not paid directly but through proxies and sister companies in what sleuths believe was a calculated move meant to avoid raising suspicions.

On Tuesday Sonko was taken through a marathon eight-hour grilling at Integrity Centre, where he recorded 13 different statements. He denied receiving any money and all other allegations, insisting that he was not involved in the procurement process.
According to EACC, the probe is also focusing on claims that the tenders were dogged by procurement irregularities and misappropriation of public funds. There are also claims of inflated payments, fraud, and conflict of interest between his companies and those linked to Deputy President William Ruto.
EACC revealed that officials at City Hall’s Environment department could not account for more than Sh160 million paid to contracted garbage collectors. This was after it emerged that the county government irregularly paid Sh162 million to 11 companies contracted to collect garbage.
Now the mouthy Ruto’s talk boy has been alleged to seek asylum in one of his many Mombasa beach resorts and hideouts.  The corruption cooking pot is boiling and many thieves and friends of thieves that have been meeting overnight to discuss how they can cripple our nation and swindle our funds are running out of options and will no longer have a place to hide.

Sonko who was too confident that he serves Nairobians with an open heart has eaten enough to burst his stomach. And EACC, DPP and DCI scavengers are about to feast him and his, now tainted political career. How long he might hide, the sun of antigraft watchdogs will reach him and he, and many others will for sure be scotched.

Earlier in his rants, Sonko alleged that he knew of deep state plans to sabotage his work and kick him out. Sonko dared the faceless deep state to come after and kill him sensationally claiming that it was Saitoti who would be there last victim and not him.

Sonko is not the type to be silent and kept off the media limelight as he banks on publicity to sell his brand. What exactly could be keeping the governor out of public eye? Could it be that his cases are implicating that he’s afraid of getting arrested and eventually kept out of office like Waititu?

Sonko promised to name his deputy after being questioned by EACC but never did. It’s really not puzzling why after staying off the subject for ages he finally made the unfulfilled promise. Is Sonko afraid and why? If the claims are true, why is Sonko hiding and just for how long will he play the games?

Are Sonko’s good media days over? Is the governor clean or finally his cover blown? EACC is convinced the governor is involved in corruption, it’s now a matter of time for them to prove this.

  • EACC: Firm That Won Sh357M Garbage Collection Tender Had Wired Sh20M To Sonko

EACC: Firm That Won Sh357M Garbage Collection Tender Had Wired Sh20M To Sonko

In his defense, Sonko blamed people he did not name in his office for making the payments behind his back.

“I blacklisted the companies and blocked their payments after the Environment committee raised issues,” he added.

EACC is probing claims of corruption in the award of the tenders for 2017-18 and 2018-19. At the centre of the alleged bribery claim is one Anthony Otieno Ombok — a director of Yiro Enterprises, one of the firms that received the controversial tender. Ombok alias Jamal is also said to be a director of another firm known as ROG Security Ltd.

According to EACC investigations, after receipt of payment from the Nairobi County Government, some of the firms would wire part of the cash to bank accounts associated with Ombok. He would then send the money to Sonko’s bank accounts. Detectives have established the complex money trail, almost similar to that which was allegedly used by Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu to get cash from the county.

“It’s alleged that the companies that won the garbage collection tenders after receipt of payments from Nairobi City County Government through proxies and sister companies made payments of over Sh20 million to Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko—through his bank accounts,” stated an EACC document seen by the media.

EACC are set to probe Ombok this weekend as the investigation enters the final phase. Companies awarded the garbage collection tender include Hardi Enterprises, Jackoy Enterprises, Flexilease Ltd, Accacia Equipment (K) Ltd and Aende Group Ltd.

According to EACC, the probe is also focusing on claims that the tenders were dogged by procurement irregularities and misappropriation of public funds. There are also claims of inflated payments, fraud, and conflict of interest.

Sonko has presented himself as an innocent governor who is only being sought for the sins committed by his employees.

“I’m not under investigation, but I was summoned as the Chief Executive of the county to come and shed light. As county boss, I don’t sit in the procurement committee and I’m not the accounting officer but I have the general responsibility for my officers.” Sonko said on Tuesday after the questioning at Integrity Centre.

Sonko claimed the questions centered on concerns raised previously by the county Environment committee questioning how some of the companies were awarded tenders without proper qualifications and due process.

“I’m not under investigation, but I was summoned as the Chief Executive of the county to come and shed light ” Sonko said

If the investigation goes deeper and Sonko gets charged, the prosecution is likely to plunge Nairobi into a constitutional crisis because to flamboyant governor might be forced out of the Office. He has refused to name a deputy governor almost 21 months after his deputy Polycarp Igathe resigned over their troubled working relationship.

This means Sonko will have no one to hand over to, a precedent that has already been set by the High Court following a landmark decision by Justice Mumbi Ngugi. Additionally, the Nairobi county assembly has no substantive speaker following the impeachment of Beatrice Elachi.

Waititu and his Samburu counterpart Moses Lenolkulal have been barred from office after Justice Mumbi ruled that county chiefs charged with corruption should stay away from the office.

Their roles should be completely taken over by their deputies for the duration of their trials, the ruling stated. The red flag over the garbage collection tender was first raised by the Nairobi county assembly Public Accounts Committee in July last year.

The watchdog committee revealed that officials at City Hall’s Environment department could not account for more than Sh160 million paid to contracted garbage collectors. This was after it emerged that the county government irregularly paid Sh162 million to 11 companies contracted to collect garbage.

However, officials could not submit payment vouchers made to the companies, the list of the 11 firms and their contractual documents to support the payment.

Sonko Targeted In Poisonous Water Crackdown

Public officials who are responsible for polluting Nairobi River are now on target of the crackdown on poisonous waste depositors and the owners of the involved firm and companies with Governor Mike Sonko and Nairobi water company MD Nahashon Muguna on top of the list.

Water Resources Management Authority Chairman Joe Mutambu stated that the multi-agency team tackling the issue would go for managers of targeted institutions, including that of Governor Mike Sonko.

National Environment Management Authority has urged Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company’s acting MD Nahashon Muguna to present himself to their offices in Nairobi to avoid being arrested and charged.

According to media sources, Muguna narrowly escaped arrest on Monday morning when he was tipped that Nema enforcement officers were on his neck for failing to comply with an order to repair sewer lines in the city.

According to Nema, the increased trash leaking sewer lines have been polluting Nairobi River and its several tributaries. Nairobi River has several tributaries, namely: Ruiru, Kamiti, Kasarani, Karura, Gitathuru and Mathare rivers.

NEMA’s acting Director-General Mamo B. Mamo led a team to the water company’s offices on Monday morning to arrest Mr. Muguna. Mr. Mamo told the media that Mr. Muguna may have been tipped off his impending arrest and escaped. His whereabouts remained unknown as his phone remained switched off.

NEMA’s boss promised to address the serious pollution of Nairobi River, an issue highlighted in a series of articles by local media.

“Our officers have established that there are 122 discharge points that have been discharging the raw sewer into the river. So to address these challenges we must cure the root cause. We have summoned him, and made it clear that we are going to arrest him and have him charged with polluting the river,” B Mamo said.

A multi-agency team established to spearhead the city’s regeneration programme listed the water firm, Nairobi County Government and the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) as the biggest polluters of Nairobi River and its tributaries.

Sonko Threatens To Storm The Parliament If Duale Remains Reluctant In 14 Days

Mike Sonko on Monday issued a 14-day ultimatum to Aden Duale to withdraw the proposed salary and allowances increment or he gives the public a go ahead to storm the Parliament.

Sonko warned Duale throught his Facebook page that he will call a mass demonstration to storm the National Assembly if Duale does not comply within timeline he has issued.

“I do hereby seek for historic support from members of the public, civil society, comrades and religious leaders in storming the National Assembly if Aden Duale does not withdraw the proposed salary and allowances increment at the expense of taxpayers within the next 14 days,” reads part of Sonko’s post.

On the Post, Sonko emphasized that the demonstration will be legal and within the confinements of the new constitution.

“We shall comply with all the due constitutional and legal requirements to ensure the success of this demonstration and protect the rights of the people of Kenya,” Assured Sonko’s Facebook post.

    Here’s Governor Sonko’s full post

    STORMING OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.

We believe that sovereign power belongs to the people, and only donated to elected leaders as enshrined in Article 1 of the Constitution of Kenya which states as follows:

    (1) All sovereign power belongs to the people of Kenya and shall be exercised only in accordance with this Constitution.

    (2) The people may exercise their sovereign power either directly or through their democratically elected representatives.

I do hereby seek for historic support from members of the public, civil society, comrades and religious leaders in storming the National Assembly if Aden Duale does not withdraw the proposed salary and allowances increment at the expense of taxpayers within the next 14 days.

We shall comply with all the due constitutional and legal requirements to ensure the success of this demonstration and protect the rights of the people of Kenya.

The Jubilee majority leader Aden Duale is leading MPs who are pushing for a salary increment.

Earlier last week, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo had said He’s has never been bankrupt like this before while on her part Suba MP, Millie Odhiambo, blamed her constituents for making her go broke.

Member of Parliament are alleging that their salaries are stretched to the limit because of contributions and handouts.

Which, on my opinion, is a total bluff from what we elected expecting to be our leaders and protectors.

Most of our MPs have fixed their lives in an extremely flashy superstar lifestyle that exceeds their pay.

Sonko rants and angry attack on Duale are over the delayed funds supposed to be allocated to counties by the National Assembly.

Sonko while speaking at Alladina Grounds in Jomvu, Mombasa County on Sunday attacked Duale and his plot to undermine devolution.

In a video doing rounds on the internet, that was shared by Sonko, Nairobi Governor is heard ranting to Duale “I want to tell Aden Duale that hii pesa ya devolution si pesa ya mama yako.”

Sonko’s rants are coming at a time when Governors, led by Council of Governors Chairperson, Wycliffe Oparanya,
forced their way into the Supreme Court buildings to submit a petition seeking to compel parliament to pass the Division of Revenue Allocation Bill 2019.

The Division of Revenue Allocation Bill stipulates how money should be disbursed to counties.

Passaris Condemns Sonko On Pangani Estate Night Evictions And Demolitions

Esther Passaris has criticized Governor Sonko for ordering night evictions and demolitions at Pangani estate.

According to Passaris, the move to demolish houses at night was unfair to children and women who were caught unprepared.

Passaris posted on her official Twitter handle Today, stating that Sonko’s administration was elected to protect citizens and not to ambush them with night demolitions and evictions like thieves.

Passaris was responding to last night’s awful events that saw Sonko Buldoze and evicts Pangani Estate residents.

“They came with around 15 bulldozers accompanied by a group of rowdy youths who provided security and were ready to deal with anyone who dared to oppose demolitions,” one of the residents affected residents told the press.

” We were terrified by the attack and rushed to Pangani Police Station to report the matter, we were surprised to learn that even the officers at the station were not aware there would be an exercise eviction,” said another tenant at the estate
