Edwin Sifuna: ODM To Give Cleophas Malala A Direct Ticket If Musalia Ejects Him

The Secretary-General of Raila’s ODM Party, Edwin Sifuna, has promised to hand Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala a direct ticket should Amani National Congress expel him.

The Musalia Mudavadi-led ANC Party suspended Mr. Malala from the party on Friday for supporting the ODM candidate Bernard Imran Okoth in the November 7 Kibra by-election.

On Sunday, ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna said, while speaking during a fundraiser at Cheptulu Salvation Army in Vihiga County, that ODM had already prepared a direct ticket to hand to Mr Malala should Musalia’s Party expel him.

“Malala supported us in Kibra, ODM party will stand with him. ANC is pained after losing the by-election. They spent money and they are feeling the pinch. As the ODM secretary-general, I want to say that should they (ANC) oust you, we shall receive you,” Mr Sifuna told the Kakamega senator.

Mr Malala, who expressed his willingness to receive the ticket, said he was not afraid of a by-election. He accused the ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi of targeting him with a similar strategy as to what Osotsi went through and eventually emerged victorious.

According to Malala, he supported Mr Okoth to comfort him after losing his brother, Ken Okoth in July. He noted that the family needed support after losing one of them and wondered why his ANC Party sponsored a candidate in Kibra. The same candidate Malala alleged to be William Ruto’s side project after Mariga.

The event was also attended by Mr Malala and nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi, who has faced a similar fate in the ANC party. Osotsi asked the Kakamega senator to defy any summons by ANC Musalia’s party that a disciplinary committee is not properly constituted.

  • Western Leaders Cancel DP Ruto After Eviction Of Luhyas From Nandi County

DP Ruto’s problems are upsurging and the son of a charcoal-burner is creating so many enemies directly and indirectly than friends and this time around, his political bad omen has landed on the people of Western Kenya, the main bloc he wants to be a darling to.

Six Luhya legislators have banished DP William Ruto from setting his foot in the region after the Wednesday night government eviction of the Luhya community from Kabtabongen, Kibtuiya ward, Chesumei sub-county in Nandi County.

Cleophas Malala, Kakamega Senator led the six MPs stating that DP Ruto has evicted Luhyas from Nandi and refused to give back their lands, a move they termed as insulting to the entire community that had welcomed him.

Though figures are not verified by this site, sources state that almost rather more than 1,500 families were rendered homeless after they were evicted in Kabtabongen, Kibtuiya ward, Chesumei sub-county in Nandi County following a prolonged land tussle.

“I don’t want to mince my words on this, I want to tell the Deputy President (Ruto) you are not welcome in our area if our people are being evicted from Nandi,” Malala said in a Thursday presser.

“We do not want to have friends only when they come to look for votes,” Osotsi said.

Caleb Amisi MP Saboti,  Florence Mutua, Busia woman representative, George Aladwa MP Makadara, Geoffrey Osotsi, ANC nominated MP and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna are the legislators that have banished DP Ruto from stepping in the western lands.

Other than cussing and banishing DP Ruto, the legislators urged President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga to intervene stating that Students and Pupils sitting this year’s National Examination risks missing all-important exam papers.

The Nandi County government responded to the evictions through this letter dated 10th October 2019. The letter doesn’t have the official signature of the Nandi Governor Stephen Sang.
