    British High Commission in Nairobi Announces Sh435,000 Digital Communications Job

    The British High Commission in Nairobi has opened applications for a prestigious Head of Digital Communications role, offering a monthly salary of Sh435,093 and the opportunity to lead one of the most visible diplomatic digital portfolios in East Africa.

    The position is part of the Kenya and Somalia Communications Team and covers both the High Commission in Nairobi and the British Embassy in Mogadishu.

    According to the official vacancy notice, the successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and driving the digital strategy across seven social media channels, managing internal communications platforms, and coordinating high quality content for the UK government’s online presence. The role is graded at Higher Executive Officer level and will run on a twenty four month fixed term contract beginning April 1, 2026.

    The job involves leading digital content creation, managing a digital team, overseeing photography and videography output, coordinating updates on GOV.UK and conducting regular monitoring of audience sentiment across platforms such as META and X. The Head of Digital will also be expected to produce quarterly analytics reports for senior officials up to ambassador level. The position includes participation in the mission’s crisis communications roster which requires the candidate to provide media leadership during emergencies.

    Applicants must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, experience in media or communications, strong digital production abilities, familiarity with the Kenyan and Somali social media environment, and previous management experience. The High Commission emphasises that candidates must already have the legal right to live and work in Kenya since locally recruited staff are not provided with work permits.

    The salary is subject to tax and other statutory deductions. The High Commission notes that employees who are not liable for local income tax may have their pay adjusted to reflect the equivalent tax amount. The employer also reminds applicants that no fees are charged at any stage of the recruitment process.

    The listing includes a caution that applications must be authentic and that AI tools should only be used for tasks such as formatting. Any form of copied or AI generated narrative content would lead to disqualification. Applicants are reminded to complete the form accurately since corrections cannot be made once the application is submitted.

    Kenya Maritime Authority Announces Job Vacancies Across Multiple Departments

    The Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) has announced a fresh round of job vacancies as it seeks to strengthen its workforce and enhance efficiency in the regulation and management of maritime affairs.

    In a re-advertisement notice, the state corporation invited applications from highly competent and proactive individuals to fill 20 different positions, ranging from senior officers to support staff.

    Some of the key roles include Senior Maritime Transport Logistics Training Officer, Senior Ports and Shipping Services Officer, Legal Officers, Surveyors, Marine Environment Protection Officer, and Maritime Labour Officer. Support positions such as ICT Assistant, Supply Chain Management Assistant, Drivers, and Office Assistants are also open.

    In a separate advertisement, KMA also declared vacancies for two senior management positions: Assistant Director, Ports and Shipping Services, and Assistant Director, Human Resource and Administration.

    Applicants are required to submit detailed applications, including curriculum vitae, academic and professional certificates, national identification documents, and other supporting materials.

    Each applicant must clearly indicate the position and reference number on their cover letter.

    Applications can be submitted through three channels:

    • Hard copies addressed to the Director General, Kenya Maritime Authority.
    • Online applications in PDF format to the designated recruitment emails.
    • Post applications sent to the Chairman, Board of Directors, Kenya Maritime Authority, at KMA Towers in Mombasa.

    The deadline for submission is Monday, October 6, 2025, at 5:00 pm.

    KMA emphasized that canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification and that successful candidates will be required to present clearance certificates from relevant government agencies, including the Kenya Revenue Authority, Higher Education Loans Board, Credit Reference Bureau, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

  • Public Service Commission Advertises 532 Job Vacancies For Kenyans

    The Public Service Commission (PSC) has advertised for 532 jobs in an advert released on Tuesday May 14, 2024.

    The positions available span across eight Ministries and State Departments including Telecommunication and Broadcasting, Labour and Skill Development, Meteorological Services, Medical Services, Internal Security, Defence, Asals and Regional Development, and National Administration.

    In the advert, the PSC announced that there is one vacancy under broadcasting and telecommunications for a communications secretary.

    Under the Department of Medical Services, the Commission is seeking to recruit 23 officials, 177 persons under Internal Security and National Administration and 106 officials under Defence.

    In addition, the government is seeking to fill 19 vacancies in the Department of Co-operatives.

    Under Environment and Climate Change, the Commission has advertised 60 vacancies and 144 under Labour and Development.

    PSC is also looking for two officials for the Asals and Regional Development.

    The Commission has also advertised for the position of Deputy VC – Academic and Student Affairs at the Technical University of Kenya.

    Meanwhile, the Commission advised interested and qualified citizens to make their applications for the jobs online.

    PSC advertised the available vacancies, a day after President William Ruto made two appointments at the executive office of the President.
