Matiang’i Isolated: Behind The Scenes Rivalry in Opposition Inner Circle Erupts in Public

Former Interior CS finds himself increasingly sidelined as Gachagua’s aggressive tactics threaten to splinter opposition unity ahead of 2027 polls

The veneer of unity within Kenya’s opposition has spectacularly crumbled, exposing a toxic cocktail of ego, ethnicity and naked ambition that threatens to hand President William Ruto an easy path to re-election in 2027.

At the centre of this implosion is former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, who finds himself fighting a lonely battle against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s increasingly aggressive attempts to dominate the opposition space .

What was supposed to be a formidable coalition to unseat Ruto has instead become a stage for petty squabbles, with Gachagua positioning himself as the undisputed kingmaker while systematically isolating anyone who dares challenge his supremacy.

The public spat between the two men on Friday laid bare the deep fissures running through the United Opposition.

While his colleagues were courting voters in Kajiado, Matiang’i was conspicuously absent, holding his own rally in Nakuru in what insiders say was a deliberate snub to Gachagua’s increasingly dictatorial style.

The message was clear: Matiang’i will not be bullied into abandoning his Jubilee Party base to genuflect before Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party.

Gachagua’s remarks at the DCP headquarters dripped with contempt for his ostensible ally.

His dismissive reference to “boardroom negotiations” and social media posturing was a thinly-veiled attack on Matiang’i’s approach to politics. But it was his ethnic dog whistle telling Matiang’i to “go get a party solidifying his base in Kisii region” that revealed the true nature of his game.

Gachagua is not interested in building a national coalition. He wants to carve up Kenya into ethnic fiefdoms, with himself controlling the lucrative Mount Kenya vote bank.

This Balkanisation strategy is precisely what has kept Kenya’s opposition perpetually weak. Instead of building a movement based on ideology and national interest, Gachagua is resurrecting the tired ethnic arithmetic that has failed Kenya for decades.

His boast, as revealed by Jubilee Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni, of controlling “seven million votes from the mountain, one million from Kalonzo, and 800,000 from Matiang’i”  exposes a man who sees his allies not as partners but as vote contractors subservient to his grand design.

Matiang’i’s defiance in Nakuru was therefore not just about defending his choice to remain in Jubilee. It was a principled stand against the ethnic balkanisation of Kenyan politics.

His insistence that “you cannot choose a party for someone” and his call for democracy within the opposition alliance represents a fundamentally different vision from Gachagua’s strongman approach.

But principle alone does not win elections in Kenya, and Matiang’i’s isolation within the coalition suggests he is losing this battle.

The former Interior CS finds himself in an impossible position. His association with former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party is both his strength and his Achilles heel.

Rigathi Gachagua on a campaign trail.

While it gives him institutional support and a ready-made party structure, it also makes him vulnerable to accusations of being Uhuru’s “lapdog” and a Trojan horse for the old establishment.

Critics like lawyer Ndegwa Njiru have openly dismissed him as “a political novice” who could be used to split opposition votes , further undermining his credibility within the coalition.

Gachagua, by contrast, has successfully positioned himself as the anti-establishment rebel, the victim of state persecution who was impeached for standing with the common man.

Never mind that his own record as Deputy President was marked by the same ethnic mobilisation and political opportunism he now deploys against Ruto.

His persecution narrative has given him a legitimacy that Matiang’i, who served in both Uhuru’s and briefly in Ruto’s government, struggles to match.

The accusation by Kioni that Gachagua has been cutting deals with Ruto in Narok  adds another layer of intrigue to this mess.

While Gachagua has vehemently denied any betrayal, the allegation speaks to a deeper suspicion within the opposition: that he is more interested in using the coalition as leverage to negotiate his way back to relevance rather than genuinely committing to regime change.

His aggressive domination of the opposition space, his insistence that DCP be the sole vehicle for Mount Kenya, and his systematic sidelining of rivals like Matiang’i all point to a man playing a longer, more cynical game.

For Matiang’i, the options are increasingly bleak. He can continue to fight from within, defending his Jubilee base while hoping that his patience and principle will eventually be rewarded.

But this strategy requires that the opposition actually wins in 2027, a prospect that looks increasingly remote given the current dysfunction.

Alternatively, he could break away entirely, but that would simply accelerate the fragmentation of the opposition and guarantee Ruto’s re-election.

The real winners in this spectacle are President Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza coalition.

Every public spat between opposition leaders reinforces Ruto’s image as the only politician with organisational discipline. Every accusation and counter-accusation proves that the opposition is not ready to govern.

The chaos within the United Opposition is a gift that keeps on giving to a President who faces serious challenges on multiple fronts but can at least count on his enemies to destroy themselves.

Political analysts have warned that this disarray is precisely what Ruto needs to cement his political base.

While the opposition burns through its political capital in internal wars, Ruto’s team is busy consolidating support, deploying technocrats to counter Gachagua’s influence, and building a national machinery that will be nearly impossible to defeat if the opposition cannot get its act together.

The tragedy is that Kenya desperately needs a viable opposition. Ruto’s government has presided over economic hardship, allegations of extrajudicial killings, and massive corruption.

There is genuine public appetite for change.

But that change requires a united front, a coherent alternative vision, and leaders willing to subordinate their egos to a larger cause. None of these elements are currently visible in the opposition.

Gachagua’s bulldozing tactics, his ethnic mobilisation strategy, and his apparent inability to work with anyone who does not submit to his authority are not signs of strong leadership.

They are the marks of a politician who learned nothing from his own impeachment, who believes that might makes right, and who is willing to sacrifice the opposition’s chances of victory on the altar of his own ambition.

Matiang’i’s isolation is therefore not just about one man’s struggle for relevance. It is a symptom of a broader disease afflicting Kenya’s opposition: the inability to build coalitions based on shared purpose rather than ethnic arithmetic, the preference for strongman politics over democratic deliberation, and the triumph of personal ambition over national interest.

Unless something changes dramatically, the 2027 election is already decided.

Not because Ruto is unbeatable, but because the opposition has beaten itself. And Kenyans, who deserve better than this circus, will once again be asked to choose between an unpopular incumbent and a dysfunctional alternative that cannot even agree on who should carry their flag, let alone what they stand for.

The next two years will determine whether the opposition can salvage something from this wreckage. But based on current evidence, Gachagua’s aggressive dominance and Matiang’i’s isolation suggest that the United Opposition is neither united nor much of an opposition.

It is simply a collection of wounded egos, ethnic entrepreneurs, and political opportunists playing out their personal dramas on the national stage while Ruto watches and smiles.

  • Matiang’i’s Bluff Called Out As He Condemns Ojwang’s Death Amid His Past in River Yala Deaths

Matiang’i’s Bluff Called Out As He Condemns Ojwang’s Death Amid His Past in River Yala Deaths

Former Interior CS’s condemnation of police brutality rings hollow as critics point to his tenure’s dark legacy

NAIROBI, Kenya – Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i’s condemnation of the death of teacher-blogger Albert Ojwang in police custody has sparked outrage and accusations of hypocrisy, with critics pointing to the grim legacy of extrajudicial killings that marked his tenure at the helm of Kenya’s security apparatus.

Matiang’i, who served as Interior CS from 2017 to 2022 under President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration, described Ojwang’s killing as “cold-hearted” and a “heartbreaking reminder of the urgent need for reform in our criminal justice system.” However, his statement has been met with derision from Kenyans who remember the horror of the River Yala bodies scandal that occurred under his watch.

Albert Ojwang, a 31-year-old teacher and blogger, died while in police custody on June 8, 2025, after being arrested for allegedly posting critical comments about a senior police officer on social media platform X.

Police initially claimed Ojwang had died by suicide, with an officer finding him “with blood oozing from his head” during a routine cell visit.

However, an autopsy conducted revealed evidence suggesting he was strangled, contradicting police claims that he injured himself by banging his head against the wall.

The revelation has intensified public outcry and demands for accountability.

Inspector-General of Police Douglas Kanja has interdicted the Officer Commanding the Station (OCS) at Nairobi’s Central Police Station, as well as all officers involved in the case, as investigations continue.

    Matiang’i’s Dark Legacy

The irony of Matiang’i’s condemnation has not been lost on Kenyans, who recall the disturbing discovery of bodies in River Yala during his tenure as Interior CS.

President William Ruto revealed in January 2023 that “Thirty bodies in Yala, 17 in Garissa…there was a container here at Nairobi Area where people were being slaughtered, in a police station” during Matiang’i’s watch.

The River Yala scandal broke in early 2022 when local divers began retrieving decomposed bodies from the river in Siaya County.

The macabre discovery eventually yielded over 30 bodies, with many showing signs of torture and execution-style killings.

Human rights organizations documented patterns suggesting systematic extrajudicial killings by security forces.

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah had called for individuals who were in charge of the security docket when the bodies were found in River Yala to be brought to account, specifically mentioning Matiang’i alongside former DCI boss George Kinoti.

Matiang’i’s current stance appears politically motivated, as he has declared his intention to run for president in the forthcoming elections.

His condemnation of Ojwang’s death can be seen as an attempt to distance himself from his controversial past and position himself as a defender of human rights.

In his statement on Ojwang’s death, Matiang’i said: “Taking a citizen’s life is not only unjust, it is a fundamental violation of human rights. Albert was a young man full of promise, a beacon of hope for his family and the pride of his parents.”

The former CS demanded accountability, stating: “We must raise our voices not just for Albert, but for every young life, especially among the Gen Z that has been lost to extrajudicial killings in recent times. Enough is enough.”

President Ruto, who fired DCI boss George Kinoti upon assuming office, had promised an end to extrajudicial killings.

In October 2022, he disbanded the DCI’s Special Service Unit (SSU) and vowed: “There will be no extrajudicial killings in Kenya under my administration.”

However, Ojwang’s death suggests that the culture of impunity within Kenya’s security forces remains deeply entrenched, raising questions about the effectiveness of Ruto’s reforms.

Social media has been awash with criticism of Matiang’i’s statement, with many Kenyans expressing disbelief at his apparent amnesia regarding his own role in Kenya’s recent history of police brutality.

“The audacity of Matiang’i to condemn extrajudicial killings when River Yala happened on his watch is breathtaking,” wrote one Twitter user.

Another commented: “This is the same man who oversaw the systematic execution of Kenyans. His crocodile tears for Ojwang fool no one.”

Ojwang’s death represents a continuation of Kenya’s troubling pattern of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances.

Human rights organization Kituo Cha Sheria has documented 1,201 killings and 272 disappearances since 2007, highlighting the persistent nature of the problem across different administrations.

The teacher’s death has particularly galvanized Kenya’s Gen Z population, who see it as emblematic of the state’s intolerance for dissent and criticism, especially on social media platforms.

As investigations into Ojwang’s death continue, civil society organizations and opposition leaders have demanded a thorough probe and prosecution of all those involved.

They have also called for systemic reforms to address the culture of impunity within Kenya’s security forces.

The family of blogger and teacher Albert Ojwang revealed police had assured them of his safety before his arrest, only to receive news of his death hours later, adding another layer of betrayal to the tragedy.

For Matiang’i, his attempt to position himself as a champion of human rights while ignoring his own record may prove to be a political miscalculation. As one commentator noted: “You cannot run from your shadow, and Matiang’i’s shadow is very dark indeed.”

[VIDEO]: Opposition Leaders Converge at Gachagua’s Wamunyoro Home as Matiang’i Makes Grand Entrance

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i made a dramatic entrance at ex-Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri County on Sunday, joining other opposition figures in what observers described as an “epic reception” that signals potential realignment of political forces.

The high-profile gathering brought together key opposition leaders including Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, PLP’s Martha Karua, and DAP-K’s Eugene Wamalwa, alongside former Cabinet Secretaries Justin Muturi and Mithika Linturi, and former MP Kabando wa Kabando.

“Thank you, Second Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, HE Rigathi Gachagua and Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, for such an incredible welcome to your Wamunyoro residence this Sunday afternoon,” Musyoka said following the meeting.

    The ‘Wamunyoro Phenomenon’

What was once an obscure village in Nyeri County has transformed into Kenya’s most talked-about political nerve center.

Since his impeachment, Gachagua has turned his Wamunyoro home into the unofficial headquarters of opposition politics—a strategic move that political analysts are now calling the “Wamunyoro Phenomenon.”

Renowned columnist Makau Mutua recently questioned this development, writing in the Daily Nation, “What exactly is Wamunyoro?”

The former deputy president’s residence has become synonymous with political realignment, with critics suggesting Gachagua is positioning himself as more than just an opposition figure.

Despite his removal from office, Gachagua continues to refer to himself as the “Second Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya,” a title his allies, including Musyoka, have adopted when addressing him.

This posture reflects what Mutua described as Gachagua’s tendency to fancy himself as “Co-President” during his tenure.

    Coalition Building

The summit marks the first time all these opposition figures have convened at Gachagua’s home, which has rapidly emerged as a central hub for opposition activities.

Political analysts note that Wamunyoro village has now gained fame in Kenyan political circles as “headquarters of cooking”—suggesting behind-the-scenes deal-making.

Sources close to the meeting indicate the leaders are working to forge a united opposition front ahead of the 2027 general elections. Gachagua has been actively reaching out to potential allies willing to join his political camp, hosting numerous meetings at his residence.

Matiang’i’s appearance alongside these opposition heavyweights has sparked speculation about potential new political alliances that could reshape Kenya’s political landscape in the coming years.

The former Interior CS, who has previously faced political challenges under the current administration, appears to be positioning himself within opposition ranks, though his exact role in any future coalition remains unclear.

Political observers will be watching closely to see how this emerging alliance develops and whether the “Wamunyoro Phenomenon” can translate into a formidable challenge to the ruling administration in 2027.

  • Opposition Forces Unite: Matiang’i Joins Political Heavyweights in Potential Challenge to Ruto

Opposition Forces Unite: Matiang’i Joins Political Heavyweights in Potential Challenge to Ruto

In what political analysts are calling the first major consolidation of opposition forces ahead of the 2027 general elections, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has emerged from his political hiatus to join key opposition figures in a high-stakes strategy meeting.

The closed-door gathering, which marks Matiang’i’s first public political appearance since quietly returning to Kenya several weeks ago, included political heavyweights former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, former NARC-Kenya leader Martha Karua, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and DAP-Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa.

Sources close to the meeting revealed that discussions centered on forming a unified political front capable of unseating President William Ruto in the next general election.

The coalition appears to be taking shape just two years before Kenyans return to the polls.

“We are looking at all possibilities to ensure Kenya gets the leadership it deserves,” said a source who requested anonymity.

Gachagua, who was impeached from his deputy president position, has been vocal about his presidential ambitions but emphasized unity over personal gain.

“I am vying for presidency, so is Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Fred Matiang’i, Eugene Wamalwa, and we continue to look for votes. In the end, we shall talk and agree to back one candidate. Even if it’s not me, I will support whoever we agree on,” Gachagua stated recently.

The former deputy president dismissed concerns about his impeachment, noting: “I was not impeached by the people. I was impeached by MPs who did not elect me. Impeached or not, I am still a leader.”

Political insiders suggest that Matiang’i, who has reportedly been endorsed as Jubilee Party’s presidential flagbearer, has spent recent weeks in private meetings with regional and national leaders, carefully positioning himself within the opposition landscape.

Also present at the strategy session were former Cabinet Secretaries Mithika Linturi, Justin Muturi, and former UNCTAD Secretary General Mukhisa Kituyi, signaling broad support across multiple political constituencies.

However, the emerging coalition faces criticism from youth leaders who question whether these established political figures represent genuine change.

“This is unity without vision, unity without purpose,” said Morara Kebaso, leader of the INJECT Party, in a scathing critique. “I urge all young people of Kenya to reject this coalition of tumbocrats and projects funded by the guy who stole 6 trillion from this nation.”

As Gachagua prepares to launch his political party next month and other opposition leaders continue consolidating their bases, political observers note that while the opposition’s efforts to form a grand coalition are gaining momentum, they face significant challenges in aligning diverse interests and presenting a unified policy platform that resonates with Kenyan voters.

Whether this emerging “Dream Team” can overcome internal rivalries and present a compelling alternative to President Ruto’s administration remains the central question in Kenya’s evolving political landscape.

  • Matiang’i Returns to Kenya Amid 2027 Presidential Bid Speculation

Matiang’i Returns to Kenya Amid 2027 Presidential Bid Speculation

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i returned to Kenya on Thursday evening from the United States, fueling speculation regarding his potential candidacy for President in the upcoming 2027 General Elections.

Matiang’i arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 11:40 p.m. on Thursday, 17, aboard Qatar Airways from Washington via Qatar.

However, he declined to address the press but “thanked God for the good journey” off-record, saying he would speak to the nation later.

Dr. Matiang’i was received by various leaders including Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, and nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba among others.

The former CS jets back amid widespread speculation over his presidential ambitions, reports that broke during the June, 25 Gen Z-led protests, talks that have since remained active in the country’s political scene.

Over the period, the former CS who served during the 4th President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure, has remained tight-lipped on the matter.

His arrival comes shortly after the Jubilee party had also declared support for his candidature in the 2027 General Elections.

On several occasions, the party’s Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has announced the party’s support for Matiang’i even as they wooed him to fly the party’s flag.

“We’ve settled on Matiang’i as our candidate. Not to mean that he becomes an eventual presidential candidate but a presidential candidate within the party who would then join others in coming up with one person who I believe as a coalition we will be able to back,” Kioni said in February at the party’s headquarters in Nairobi.

A section of Kisii leaders including, Senator Onyonka has also publicly endorsed his candidature.

This emerged after discussions about Matiang’i plans to challenge President Ruto in the upcoming elections flooded social media, with the talks attracting opposition and support in equal measure.

At the same time, recent reports of his engagement with a Canadian lobby firm, Dickens & Madison to strategise his campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections, have also hinted at Matiang’i running for the country’s top seat.

Has been engaged as an employee of the World Bank based in Washington DC, United States, a role his insiders say he may quit to join politics.

“Yesterday Dr Fred Matiang’i called me from where he is working for the World Bank in Latin America. He has decided to leave the job and come back to Kenya to join our brothers,” Onyonka said in January.

  • 2027 Presidential Race: Inside Uhuru’s Strategic Plot to Regain Influence

2027 Presidential Race: Inside Uhuru’s Strategic Plot to Regain Influence

The 2027 presidential election in Kenya is shaping up to be one of the most fiercely contested in the nation’s history, with political heavyweights already positioning themselves for the top job. At the center of this high-stakes political chess game is former President Uhuru Kenyatta, whose behind-the-scenes maneuvers are drawing significant attention as he seeks to reclaim his influence in Kenyan politics.

Uhuru, who had hoped to maintain his grip on power by backing Raila Odinga in the 2022 elections, is now determined to play a pivotal role in shaping the 2027 race. Although constitutionally barred from vying for the presidency again, Uhuru is focused on preserving the Kenyatta family’s political legacy and ensuring his influence remains intact, particularly in the Mt. Kenya region and beyond.

    Uhuru’s secret meetings with Matiang’i

Reports indicate that Uhuru has been holding discreet meetings with Fred Matiang’i, the former Interior Cabinet Secretary, signaling a strategic shift that could significantly alter the political landscape. Sources speaking to Kenya Insights reveal that these meetings, held at Matiang’i’s Karen residence and Uhuru’s family home in Ichaweri, Gatundu, are aimed at positioning Matiang’i as a strong contender for the presidency in 2027.

The former president’s support for Matiang’i is already playing out in the public domain. Sponsored media narratives have begun fronting Matiang’i as a viable candidate, and Uhuru’s Jubilee Party recently endorsed him as its flag bearer for the 2027 presidential race. This move underscores Uhuru’s determination to shape the next government and counter President William Ruto’s influence.

    The Luhya Factor

A key aspect of Uhuru’s strategy involves selecting a running mate from the Luhya community, with potential candidates including Eugene Wamalwa and Governor George Natembeya. This move is seen as an attempt to split the Luhya vote, which could otherwise consolidate behind Ruto, especially if he opts for a Luhya running mate like Musalia Mudavadi. By presenting a Luhya deputy on Matiang’i’s ticket, Uhuru aims to divide the community’s support, complicating Ruto’s path to re-election.

In Matiang’i’s backyard of Kisii, local leaders, many of whom are drawn from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), have shown early signs of abandoning Raila Odinga to back Matiang’i. This shift was evident when Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka joined Kalonzo Musyoka and Rigathi Gachagua at the launch of Eugene Wamalwa’s Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K), headquarters. Onyonka, representing Matiang’i, signaled a collective agreement to form a coalition aimed at ousting Ruto—a coalition that Uhuru wants Matiang’i to lead.

Former DP Rigathi Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Richard Onyonka joined Eugene Wamalwa at the launch of DAP-K’s new headquarters, with the party vowing to build alliance that will remove Ruto from power.

    Matiang’i’s Credentials

Uhuru’s decision to back Matiang’i is not arbitrary but rooted in a long-standing professional relationship. Matiang’i served under Uhuru in various high-profile roles, including Cabinet Secretary for Interior, where he earned a reputation as a competent and reform-oriented administrator. His leadership during the 2017 elections, where he played a critical role in maintaining national security, earned him the moniker “Dr. Fix It.”

The involvement of Uhuru’s inner circle, including his brother Muhoho Kenyatta, suggests a family-backed political strategy aimed at extending the Kenyatta influence in Kenyan politics. The presence of former Solicitor General Njee Muturi further indicates that Matiang’i’s campaign will have robust legal and strategic support.

    Gachagua Factor

The political landscape is further complicated by the ambitions of Rigathi Gachagua, the impeached former Deputy President, who is attempting to establish his own political base in the Mt. Kenya region. Gachagua’s rise threatens to fragment the region’s traditional voting bloc, which has been pivotal in past elections. Uhuru’s strategy appears to involve countering Gachagua’s influence by rallying support for Matiang’i, ensuring the region does not slip away from his sphere of influence.

    Matiang’i’s Strategy

Matiang’i, with his background in academia, international organizations, and the Kenyan government, has built a resume that positions him as a candidate of change. To bolster his campaign, he has engaged international lobbying firms like Dickens and Madson to enhance his global image and connections. Domestically, he is forming alliances, notably with Gusii-based parties, to widen his voter base.

Reports also suggest that Matiang’i is planning to resign from his advisory position at the United Nations in New York to focus fully on his presidential campaign. While he has yet to publicly declare his candidacy, his proxies have been actively pushing his agenda, signaling his readiness to enter the race.

    The Mt. Kenya Business Elite

The Mt. Kenya business elite, traditionally influential in shaping the region’s political choices, are at a crossroads. Divided between supporting Matiang’i, Kalonzo Musyoka, or Gachagua, their decision could prove decisive in the 2027 race. Uhuru’s influence is expected to play a critical role in swaying these key players to back Matiang’i.

    A New Political Era?

As the 2027 race heats up, the narrative is one of strategic alliances, regional politics, and generational shifts. Matiang’i’s campaign promises a new style of leadership that resonates with an electorate eager for change. However, with competing power centers and shifting allegiances, the path to State House is fraught with challenges.

There’s also the explosive Gen-Z factor that would swing the elections in the most unexpected ways. Since the anti-government protests that almost collapsed Ruto’s administration last year, most young people have become politically active and are expected to vote largely in the coming election. It’s without a doubt that the opposition leaders including Matiang’i and Gachagua have been trying to stay close to be seen as fighting for the interests of the youths.

The Gen-Zs offered a rich vote bloc as they make nearly 40% of Kenyan voters.

The outcome of the 2027 election will not only determine Kenya’s next president but could also reshape the country’s political landscape for years to come. For Uhuru Kenyatta, the stakes are high as he seeks to cement his legacy and ensure the Kenyatta family remains a dominant force in Kenyan politics. Whether his strategy will succeed remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the 2027 presidential race will be a defining moment in Kenya’s history.

  • Uhuru’s Jubilee Endorses Matiang’i As Party’s Presidential Candidate In 2027

Uhuru’s Jubilee Endorses Matiang’i As Party’s Presidential Candidate In 2027

As political temperatures continue to rise, realignments in the power tables continue to be seen.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party has revealed plans to support former Interior Ministry cabinet secretary Fred Matiangi’s bid for presidency during the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a leadership meeting in Narok on Saturday January 25, 2025, Jubilee party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni announced that the party’s flag bearer in the 2027 presidential elections is Matiang’i.

Kioni expressed confidence that Matiang’i would easily beat President William Ruto in the 2027 elections.

“We as the Jubilee Party have our own candidate, Fred Matiang’i. He will face off with the others to ensure Ruto goes home,” Kioni stated.

“If we all agree to come together and vote, Ruto will not win even if he appoints Kimani Ichung’wah or Kamket as IEBC Chairperson,” he added.

The Jubilee Party endorsement comes amid speculations that the former Interior Ministry CS, was planning to contest for the presidency in 2027.

Jubilee party secretary general Jeremiah Kioni

At the same time, the Jubilee party secretary general urged Kenyans to embrace minority communities, asking the Mount Kenya Region to support a candidate from another community for the presidency.

“We want a President from a small community. Let us step aside and let someone else in. Let us unite and vote as one,” he said.

His sentiments were echoed by Kisii County Senator Richard Onyonka, who  also announced his endorsement for Matiang’i, emphasizing that the county should produce a presidential candidate in 2027.

“We know that Matiang’i is going to win but he cannot do it alone. We are going to talk to everybody. We will talk to Kalonzo, Gachagua, Uhuru and Raila for support,” said Senator Onyonka.

  • Matiang’i Being Trailed By Dangerous Men, Arati Claims

Matiang’i Being Trailed By Dangerous Men, Arati Claims

Kisii Governor Simba Arati on Friday claimed former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi was facing an imminent danger to his life alleging a pursuit by criminal gangs.

Arati pleaded with the government to accord Matiangi, said to have retreated to his rural home in Borabu, Nyamira County, State security due to his prominent role in Kenya’s anti-terrorism efforts under President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.

“Matiangi dealt with Al Shabaab and restored peace and security in our country. Even if he was loyal to his boss, he needs security from the government because his life is in danger,” Arati said during an event at Gusii Stadium.

Arati claimed that following the withdrawal of State security, Matinagi has had to switch vehicles intermittently to evade gangs.

He accused President William Ruto’s administration of dictatorial tendencies challenging the government to work towards uniting Kenyans.

“The national government dictatorship cannot help. Let’s see how we can bring every leader on board,” Governor Arati said.

Matiangi, who became a vocal critic of Ruto in the latter years of the Kenyatta presidency often calling out the then Deputy President for wrecking the ship from within, has taken a low profile since alleged attempts to arrest him in February 2023.

Accused of reining terror on Ruto allies and sanctioning dramatic arrests under former Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti, Matiangi told off judges issuing anticipatory bail for undermining security agencies.

Matinagi would later dash to court to obtain an anticipatory bail for fear of arrest event as his successor, Kithure Kithiki, denied plans to arrest him

State Takes Over Operations Of KPLC Orders Forensic Audit

The Government has directed Kenya Power to immediately suspend ongoing and pending negotiations with independent power producers.

Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i said the Company should also prioritize a review of existing agreements in a drive to lower cost of electricity in the country.

Matiang’i, said the decision was in line with the recommendations of the Presidential Task Force on the Review of PPAs entered into by KPLC following widespread concerns of high electricity bills.

“We are all concerned about the cost of power. Our bills are too high, and we have taken tough decisions to deal with challenges in this sector with the focus being the bringing down of the cost of power,” he said.

The CS was speaking after a meeting the KPLC Board, the company’s senior management team, and officials from the Ministry of Energy.

He revealed that the Government has declared KPLC a “Special Project” and an inter-ministerial team has been set up to audit and oversight the power-distributor urgently.

“We are going to do a forensic audit of some of our systems and procedures at KPLC. We are working jointly at an inter-ministerial level to reduce the system losses including the theft of power. We will address all challenges that result in passing unnecessary costs to consumers.” He said,

The multi-agency team comprising of the DCI, Financial Reporting Center (FRC), Assets Recovery Authority and other investigative agencies will be assembled to investigate alarming system losses within KPLC, procurement practices, insider trading, conflict of interests and suspect transactions involving KPLC staff and others.

“For a while, KPLC has been running at a loss, with all indicators pointing to ineffective Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) that have left the company heavily indebted while ironically paying for excesses energy it does not need in take-or-pay arrangements blamed on poor negotiations and vested interests,” He said.

Matiang’i said besides high fixed capacity charges amounting to Kshs 47 billion, the PPAs are bound by Commercial Operation Dates (CODs) that are not aligned with the company’s power demand. This has often resulted in excess power generation even when the demand is low.

In the 2019/2020 Financial year, KPLC posted a loss before tax of Kshs 7 billion. Its negative working capital position for the fourth consecutive year has also raised substantial doubt about its ability to sustain operations.

The system losses stood at 23.47 percent, exceeding the 19.99 percent limit approved by the Energy and Petroleum Authority (EPRA). This is attributed to lack of internal control measures put in place to mitigate losses including governance.

The company’s obligations to pay for goods and services that were acquired from suppliers were also not met with a long outstanding balance of Kshs 1.3 billion resulting to discontentment of financiers and suppliers.

The CS SAID the company did not submit to the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority Kshs 1.2 billion of deposit refunds to consumers, unidentified receipts, unpaid customer electricity deposits, unpaid wayleaves compensation, and unclaimed dividends and stale cheques as required by the Unclaimed Financial Assets Act 2011.

Dr. Matiang’i exuded confidence that the proposed changes will yield the much-desired results and assured Kenyans that the unit cost of electricity billed to clients will soon go down.

He was accompanied by Principal Secretaries, Gordon Kihalangwa and Julius Muya, KPLC Board Chair Vivian Yeda, and Ag. KPLC Managing Director Rosemary Oduor

DP Ruto Protests Withdrawal Of His Security

Deputy President William Ruto has written to the Inspector General of police seeking an explanation on the withdrawal of security at his official residence in Karen.

This after the security officer in charge of General Service Unit attached to his residence informed the Deputy President that he had received verbal orders to withdraw GSU officers effective 2pm Thursday afternoon.

Communication Secretary in the Office of The Deputy President David Mugonyi says the withdrawal extends to all his residences, adding that no explanation was offered for the unlawful act.

“The decision has been made contrary to the Police Service Standing Orders Chapter 8 section 5(E) that the GSU Commandant shall be responsible for the security of the President, the Deputy President, State Houses and Lodges,” He said.

Mugonyi says the withdrawal is the latest installment in a sustained and systematic effort to undermine the Deputy President’s personal security in pursuit of political vendetta saying it exposes him to personal harm.

Mugonyi further highlights several instances where security agencies have been used to frustrate the Deputy President among them the recent disruption of Mahoo MCA funeral where he was in attendance.

“In January 2020 Government officials acting with authority looked out the Deputy President out of his official residence in Mombasa which remains locked to date,” He added.

In response, The National Police Service says the withdrawal of security at Deputy President William Ruto’s official residence is a normal reassignment of duties within the service.

“The Security of Government Buildings (SGB) has been deployed to provide general security to the official residence of the Deputy President from the General Service Unit,” He said.

Shioso further added that the “Presidential Escort Unit continues to provide close protection security to the Deputy President.”

The withdrawal was condemned by elected leaders in the Country with Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja saying providing the Deputy President with security isn’t a favour and Police officers and their bosses must stop playing politics with it.

“I am not associated with DP Ruto but it’s reckless and careless to withdraw his security and it should be reinstated immediately. The Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, Interior CS Fred Matiangi and Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho should be held accountable if anything happens to the Deputy President,” He said.

  • Why Dadaab closure was imminent

    Why Dadaab closure was imminent

Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i has given UNHCR 14 days to present plan on the closure of Dadaab and Kakuma refugee camps without any further negotiations. The directive is issued amid height of maritime crisis between Kenya and Somalia.

Dr. Matiangi delivered the letter bearing two weeks ultimatum on the scheduled closure of the world’s largest refugee camps will directly to the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees representative to Kenya Fadhilaa Addala.

The closure will affect over 500,000 people hosted at the respective camps after Kenya downplayed the Maritime impasse and blamed the move on concerns over the rising terror activities planned from Dadaab and Kakuma camps.

Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i [p/courtesy]
‘There is no room for negotiation. We must strike a balance between Kenya’s international obligation and her domestic duties. We do have a domestic responsibility to protect Kenya,’’ the letter read in part.

Kenya made similar attempts to close Dadaab camp in 2016 and send hundreds of thousands of Somalis back to their war-torn homeland or on to other countries after the then Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery said al-Shabaab fighters used the camp as a base for smuggling weapons.

“For reasons of pressing national security that speak to the safety of Kenyans in a context of terrorist and criminal activities, the government of the Republic of Kenya has commenced the exercise of closing Dadaab refugee complex,” Nkaiserry said.

But many aide groups complained that closure of the camps was devastating since it was not be possible to force large numbers of people over the border into a country where war is still raging.

William Swing, director general of the International Organization for Migration, complained that the move desperate move to empty the camps might result to abuse and violence.

In 2017 a high court judge ruled against the decision to close down the camps arguing that it was tantamount to an act of group persecution but Kenyan government vowed to appeal against the ruling on security grounds.

The latest directive is issued when Kenya and Somalia are embroiled in a heated dispute over 100,000km2 area of the Indian Ocean thought to have lucrative hydrocarbons and fish.

Kenya wants the boundary to run eastwards on a parallel line of latitude as it is today while Somalia wants the line to move southeastwards, based on an equidistant line.

But Kenya walked out of the hearings at the International Court of Justice after it accused the World Court of ‘procedural unfairness’ in the case. ICJ allowed oral hearing to continue despite Kenya’s protest in a case that may see her lose rights to exploit oil and gas in the deep waters off the East African shores.

Police Release Names Of Cops Who Assaulted Allan Omondi, The JKUAT Student

Police constables George Wathania, Kibet Chemipei and Boniface Muthama are the officers recorded clobbering Allan Omondi, the JKUAT student who was caught while running to safety.

The students who were demonstrating the increased insecurity in Juja clashed with anti-riot police and, as some alleged on social media, angry locals who were supporting the police brutality.

Netizens had reactive to the viral video a move that prompted the CS for Interior Interior Dr Fred Matiang’i to respond. National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has released names of three of the four police officers caught on camera brutally assaulting Allan Omondi.

National Police Service Commission Chairman Eliud Kinuthia said the fourth officer was yet to be identified.

“The identification of the 4th police officer is delaying because, it’s a process, and the angle of the image on what is happening needs assurance and should be right. It is not yet set on which date or how long the investigation will take,” said Kinuthia.

The three police officers who have been identified have since been interdicted to allow for investigations before further disciplinary action is taken against them.

In what is perceived as a bluff to the public, the Police boss said the conditions of the Allan Omondi, the student who was assaulted are unclear despite pointing out that injured students are receiving treatment at different levels.

Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Interior & Coordination of National Government Dr. Fred Matiang’i has issued a statement through his official twitter account regarding an amateur video recorded in Juja that exhibited a few tricks and merciless ‘techniques’ our forces graduated with after a year-plus training on how to handle riot by unarmed citizens.

In the video, a JKUAT student named Allan Omondi was captured in between the soldiers boots and clubs receiving a mob beating from soldiers who cared for nothing about his life after.

Matiang’i To Autocrat Liquor Ads On TV

Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination Dr Fred Matiang’i want to have a VETO power on what time TV stations can air their liquor commercials.

In a proposed Bill by South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro, if approved, CS Matiang’i will have total powers to control most of the PG-rated ads. According to Osoro, he proposes this due to surging cases of under-age drinking being encouraged by TV ads.

Currently, agencies with powers to regulate the Ads are Communications Authority (CA), Mr I have Banned, Ezekiel Mutua led Kenya Film Classification Board and Mutotho’s creation NACADA.

The bill also wants to water down the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act which limits powers of Interior CS to only setting time during which the sale of alcohol is permitted. Currently, the CS has to liaison with KFCB, NACADA and CA to regulate the TV commercials.

I don’t know why the government thinks Fred Matiang’i is better for this or the Executive wants to give him more powers to clear another backdoor deal. Why can’t the State do away with the functionally crippled agencies if Matiang’i can have powers to autocrat everything? This is the same government that want to register, license and regulate social media users!

CS Matiang’i Reshuffles Top Police Bosses As War On Narcotics In Coast Region Surges

The Intensified war on Narcotics and other hard drugs in Kenya’s coastal region has been taken a notch higher as the Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has ordered and led a reshuffle of top security bosses in the region.

Those reshuffled are Coast Regional Police Commander Marcus Ocholla, County Police Commander Johnston Ipara and County Commissioner Evans Achoki.

Mr. Ocholla will be replaced by the current Western Region Police Boss Rashid Yakub from the Administration Police (AP) unit which has since been merged with the Kenya Police.

Ocholla has tenure has been cut short after serving as the coast region commander for only 8 months. He was appointed in mid-January this year when he was serving in the Eastern region.

Mr. Ipara, who last week was leading a search at wanted drug trafficking suspect Ali Punjani’s palatial residence, has been moved to Uasin Gishu where he will take over from Mr. Augustine Nthumbi.

Mr. Ipara was the only Police Boss who was not affected by the January reshuffle that saw many top Police officials moved and reposted. Ipara has served for three years as the Mombasa county police commander.

Meanwhile, Mr Achoki who has also served as the Mombasa county security committee chairman for close to four years has also been moved. He will now be in Marsabit County.

A source speaking to the media has stated that the reshuffle led by CS Matiang’i comes amid failure by the senior security officials to deal with the increased Narcotics and other hard drug menaces.

“Last week’s raids have been seen as some hullabaloo because not a single big person was taken to court and charged over the drugs-related case,” a source told media

The reshuffle might be a plot twist from the government to avoid direct blame and public cussing after the police who, over last week conducted a crackdown and ransacked Punjani’s house and also that of Bofu Ward MCA Ahmed Salama, and left without any concrete  evidence that has since seen the unconditional release of Mr. Salama, three foreigners and Ali Punjani’s wife Karka Sushmija.

Another source speaking to the media stated that  Ipara was moved because he took journalists to record an active Police raid and led a shoddy operation at Ali Punjani’s house.

“He was really attacked over that move since it was only seen as a public relations exercise meant to put across Punjani as a good man,” said the source.

During his 5 days tour in the Coast region CS Matiang’i said the drug trade has been a thorny issue in the region stating that that the government would move a step further, even if it is looking among those in the security detail.

Dr Matiang’i visited the coast five days after a terror gang attack in Bamburi which he said was influenced by drugs trafficking. The CS said drugs were responsible for the increase of killer gangs terrorising the residents. At least 13 people were injured during the Bamburi attack.

  • Video :Starehe MP Jaguar Threatens To Storm, Beat And Eject Chinese Traders From Gikomba Market

Video :Starehe MP Jaguar Threatens To Storm, Beat And Eject Chinese Traders From Gikomba Market

Jubilee’s crying Starehe MP Charles Njagua alias Jaguar, has given Matiang’i and the government only 24 hours to deport all Chinese traders from Gikomba.

Jaguar who was captured by a civilian threatened to order his constituents to forcefully beat And eject the Chinese if the Interior Secretary Fred Matiang’i and the Immigration department fails to act in 24 hours.

Jaguar’s speech was captured on Monday after he led traders and other leaders in a demonstration against the Chinese invaders in Gikomba market.

“The other day we saw Matiang’i claiming he had only deported six Chinese nationals yet we have hundreds in here. We are giving the government 24-hour ultimatum to deport them failure to which I will lead the locals in storming their shops and ejecting them and beating them to the airport ,” Jaguar said in a video.

City traders have complaining to the government about the increased influx of Chinese traders in Local markets.

Chinese do not only deal with fake cheap supplies but also have strong financial muscle and governments protection.

One even wonders why the same government through Communication authority of Kenya that banned and blocked the use and sell of Chinese communication gadgets is offering shadow protection to the Chinese.

We as kenyainsights.com strongly believe any person legally in Kenya, whether a foreigner or not, is duly and constitutionally allowed to set up and run businesses as far as they are legal and legitimate.

It’s also the duty of the government to ensure that all the residents from this and other foreign countries are protected.

This however doesn’t justify why the government allows the Chinese to have strategic control of the supply chain from importation of goods, to wholesale distribution and even further down to the first hand direct retail level.

Gikomba traders and other Nairobi trading centers and sites like Luthuli Avenue, River Road, Nyamakima and Kamukunji have been urging the government to protect them from Chinese traders who have cheaper options of the same products on the market.

Local fisher industry traders had also sent their grievances about the increased Chinese plastic fish on the markets.

As a law marker Jaguar should be at the forefront of encouraging his Starehe constituents in abiding by the law accordingly.

By the powers vested in him, he should be in the Parliament debating bills that will protect traders in his constituency.

Him giving the government that he is deeply involved in by being a member of the ruling party an ultimatum to act clearly indicates that either he is sure that the very government is not working or his has no clue what he is supposed to do as an MP.

  • Power Trappings: Rift Valley MPs Complaining That Raila Is Enjoying More State Privileges Than DP Ruto

Power Trappings: Rift Valley MPs Complaining That Raila Is Enjoying More State Privileges Than DP Ruto

Raila Odinga, who still holds that he’s the Chief Opposition Leader’s role in Jubilee has increased worries from DP Ruto’s camp.

Raila’s puzzling protocol has been increased by the President with everything passing through DP Ruto’s nose.

Mr Odinga is an African Union’s High Representative for Infrastructure Development with full delegated authority by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Hon. Raila Odinga holds meetings with cabinet secretaries, launches government public projects and Offers State cleared consultations to the President.

Last week, Raila represented Kenya in a conference on Infrastructure under the Belt and Road Initiative in Ethiopia.

He jetted back in the Country on Friday and was given a Presidential escort and security to Kiambu County where he was scheduled to Officially officiate the ground breaking of the Tatu Tech City.

Raila was received by Kiambu’s top government security personnel and Wilson Wanyanga, the Kiambu County Commissioner.

The recent Presidential escort and Security detail being offered to Mr. Odinga has increased discomfort from DP Ruto and his allies.

According to Ruto allies, and majority of Rift Valley MPs, Raila has been given an upper protocol in government than Ruto.

The MPs have accused Raila of using his current position to blackmail the public in his power trapping scheme.

The Rift Valley MPs complains were echoed by the self proclaimed Ruto spokesman Oscar Sudi.

Sudi says the President has downgraded Ruto and his constitutional responsibilities and privileges given to Raila.

This is not the first time DP Ruto’s camp is feeling left out in Jubilee’s government rather degraded by President Kenyatta.

In January this year, DP Ruto was forced to have a closed door meeting with President Kenyatta in Mombasa after the President transferred most vital Ruto’s constitutional powers and responsibilities to Fred Matiangi, the Interior Cabinet Secretary.

On Raila’s defense, his spokesman Dennis Onyango, said that former Prime Minister is not a government employee.

Onyango said that Raila is only helping the country heal and get past the bitter divisions that had shredded peaceful coexistence.

According to Dennis Onyango, Raila is outlining the issues the government should keep working on to sustain coexistence in the country.

However, according to Rift Valley MPs, Raila Odinga, the Opposition leader who turned out to be Chief government policy supporter and influencer elevated protocol by government and increased security details and deep State role remains a threat to the existence of Jubilee and DP Ruto’s political cause.

Behind The Rampant School Fires: The Education Sector Cartels That Matiangi Has Rattled

    Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i.
    Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.

The latest update on the seemingly never-ending school fires comes from the National Intelligence Service (NIS). The agency has advised the Ministry Of Education to call immediately for the indefinite closure of schools with Intel indicating that more fires are set up in the coming days. An average of 5 schools are burned daily with over 300 schools already razed down.

Education CS Matiangi has insisted that the exam leakage cartel is behind the fires- a sentiment that the association of the secondary level heads has dismissed. From Kenya Insights investigations, the cartel that is crippling the education sector is larger than it seems and dates ages back. The cartels are so powerful that they’ll do anything and everything to protect their empire. They’re ghosts that can’t be seen just heard.

    Exams Leakage

This is perhaps the most lucrative business ever and an opening for quick cash. The syndicate is estimated to net about Sh.400M each year. It has its head at Mtihani house where KNEC officials privy to the exams coordinate the flow of exam leakage. Security officers and teachers make the trickle down membership.

The cost of buying exams is passed down to parents through non-existent projects in the fee structure; this, according to Kenya Insights investigations, is a key explanation behind those exorbitant and exaggerated school fees in secondary schools.

There’s also the fee cartel in which head teachers and education ministry officials conspire to introduce illusionary projects in the fee structure. The loot is then shared as parents bare the bulk of the burden.
    Procurement

    Suppliers

This is also another lucrative field where education officials, publishers, suppliers of textbooks and teachers conspire to inflate prices of the books. It’s estimated to be raking an annual amount of up to Sh.200M. This extends to infrastructure projects where contractors conspire with head teachers and regional ministry officials

Matinagi stringent rules have sent shivers down many people’s spines and those who transacted dirty deals would take advantage of the fires to burn down evidence and doctoring records with auditing called upon statitistics. The extortion racket in the education sector is under threat and won’t go down quickly.

Matiangi got into the ministry with full knowledge of the cartel, their strengths and vowed to fight them with the aim of cleaning the education sector but they’ve fought back hard. The fight wasn’t going to be easy, dismantling a cartel needs a major strategy, and Matiangi is yet to hack it. A suggestion of convention bringing together all education stakeholders has been raised.

  • Secret Meeting Reveals The Sh400M Racket Behind Nationwide School Fires

Secret Meeting Reveals The Sh400M Racket Behind Nationwide School Fires

    Education CS Fred Matiang'i
    Education CS Fred Matiang’i

For the past weeks schools have been going up in flames with over 10,000 students sent home scored charged in courts for arson including teachers. Some students have been heavily punished, about 15 students who recently set ablazeLangata dormitories have been sent to Kamiti maximum prison where hardcore criminals are detained perhaps a move to send a severe warning to the rest.

As the cases of school fires continue to thrive one critical issue that has taken centre stage is as to who and what elements could be behind the fires. Several theories have been forthcoming including politics.

Initially, the fires started in Kisii the home ground of education CS Fredrick Matiang’i, and it was theorised that jealous local leaders wanted him out of the seat, and the fires would be used as a sign of discomfort and rebellion to his leadership in the education helm.

Another angle that was introduced came from KNUT officials that the strict and dictatorial policies that the CS introduced including overhauling the schools calendar and activities were to blame. KNUT Sec Gen Sossion is on record saying the students were unhappy and showed rejection to the stiff policies. KNUT has threatened to cease duty should the ministry go ahead with charging teachers for arson.

Talking of terrible policies, the CS has issued a warning that any school that burns it’s head teacher would automatically be demoted. This is a misinformed and exposing innocent teachers to victimisation. It doesn’t automatically mean the headteachers are part of the syndicate of anything an enemy would take advantage to sponsor a fire in individual school to have the headteacher demoted. That thought needs revision.

Ministry of education officials bundled themselves in a hotel in Naivasha on Monday for a secret crisis meeting with agenda of finding out the factors behind the fires. According to a mole speaking to Kenya Insights, the findings of the ministry’s investigations points fingers at the exams leaking cartel. The cartel is accurate on KCSE, which is just months away from starting.

The syndicate that includes KNEC officials, security officers, middlemen and teachers is said to be raking cool Sh400M annually on leaking the exams a menace that has dealt credibility blow to the exams council The KNEC’s New chairman and immediate former UoN VC Prof Magoha has promised to make this year’s exams leak proof and the cartel is scared to death with the reality of losing out on this year’s loot.

While theories continue to emerge more schools continue to go up in flames, an amicable solution should be up to salvage the education sector which is on fire.
