Aisha Jumwa Dumps Ruto’s UDA For Kingi’s Party

NAIROBI, Kenya – Former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa has abandoned President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance and announced that she is returning to Senate Speaker Amason Kingi’s Pamoja African Alliance.

Jumwa said her decision followed lengthy consultations with the PAA leadership and her supporters and that she was ready to assume the position of deputy party leader.

“I have declared my stand and what is remaining is to officially join PAA and take the office as the deputy party leader,” she said.

She described PAA as a homegrown party that reflects the political aspirations of the Coast region, insisting that her move was driven by the need to reorganise coastal politics.

Jumwa revealed that she became uncomfortable with UDA after President Ruto’s recent visit to the Coast, during which he avoided making a strong pitch for the ruling party’s activities on the ground. She argued that shifting parties is part of Kenya’s political tradition and reminded critics that even top leaders frequently change their political homes.

The former Kilifi Woman Representative confirmed she will challenge Governor Gideon Mung’aro of ODM in 2027.

She is confident that PAA can dislodge ODM in Kilifi and sweep all elective seats, including governor, senator, woman representative, MPs and MCAs.

At rallies in Ganze and Magarini, where she launched her PAA campaign, Jumwa called for unity among coastal politicians and said the community had lost bargaining power in 2022 because it was divided.

She said she still supports President Ruto’s re-election and insisted that PAA remains part of the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

According to her, more political parties will join the ruling side before the next General Election. She dismissed claims that PAA is a personal vehicle for Speaker Kingi and said every party has its own identity and mission.

Jumwa previously used ODM to win the Woman Representative seat in 2013 and the Malindi MP seat in 2017.

She was among leaders who backed Kingi’s push to abandon ODM, accusing the party of sidelining the Coast despite years of loyal support.

She reiterated that Raila Odinga’s influence in the region cannot automatically be inherited by his successors.

As she re-enters the political arena under the PAA banner, Jumwa is positioning herself as the new force driving coastal unity ahead of 2027.

She said her political machine is already in motion and promised that her return will not be business as usual.

  • Aisha Jumwa Dumps Ben 10 After Secret Camera Exposes Steamy Car Romp

Aisha Jumwa Dumps Ben 10 After Secret Camera Exposes Steamy Car Romp

Former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa is back in the gossip spotlight after sensational claims that she kicked out her toyboy lover, popularly known as Mtumba Man, in a scandal that has set tongues wagging both online and in political circles.

Word has it that Jumwa, who has never shied away from flaunting her youthful taste in men, had been spoiling the TikTok sensation rotten.

Insiders whisper that she moved him from his humble hustle into a posh estate, parked him behind the wheel of a sleek high-end car, and demanded he drop TikTok for a “serious man’s lifestyle.”

But the romance crumbled in the most dramatic fashion.

Unknown to her Ben 10, Jumwa had allegedly installed hidden cameras in her car to keep tabs on his movements.

The footage, which is said to be doing secret rounds in private chats, captured him in a steamy encounter with another woman inside the very car she had gifted him.

    Mtumba Man.
    Mtumba Man.

    That was the last straw.

The fiery former CS is said to have thrown him out, seized back the luxury car, and cut off his lavish upkeep without warning.

Mtumba Man, suddenly stripped of his soft life, has since been spotted on social media lamenting his downfall, even posting cryptic videos of himself sick and broke—moves critics say are just sympathy stunts.

The scandal has exploded across TikTok, where users are gleefully dissecting every juicy detail, from Jumwa’s choice in men to the viral clips of Mtumba Man’s whining.

For now, the once-favored Ben 10 has been reduced from living large in Jumwa’s shadow to clout-chasing for handouts online.

One thing is clear: in Jumwa’s world, betrayal comes with a swift eviction notice—and repossession.

  • Ruto Appoints Aisha Jumwa As A Senior State Official

Ruto Appoints Aisha Jumwa As A Senior State Official

Nairobi – President William Ruto has appointed Aisha Jumwa Katana as the non-executive Chairperson of the Kenya Roads Board, effective immediately according to a gazette notice made public on Friday.

Jumwa, who previously served as the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service and Gender under the Ruto administration, has now been entrusted with a three-year term to lead the Kenya Roads Board. She replaces Ahmed Kolosh Mohamed, whose appointment has been revoked.

The appointment comes at a time when the besieged Ruto’s administration is pushing forward an aggressive agenda for infrastructure development, particularly in road networks, which are vital for economic growth and connectivity across the country and is keen to win the hearts of Kenyans.

Her appointment has attracted mixed reactions from netizens. Some commend President Ruto for recognizing Jumwa’s capabilities and her potential to drive the Kenya Roads Board towards achieving its goals. Conversely, there are concerns regarding past criticisms of her performance in previous roles, with some questioning if this move aligns with the administration’s commitment to effective governance.

Jumwa’s appointment follows her notable political journey, including her stint in the Cabinet after the 2022 elections. However, she was among the ministers dismissed in July 2024 amid widespread youth-led protests, although President Ruto had promised her a future role in government. This promise was fulfilled with her new appointment, indicating the President’s confidence in her leadership abilities despite the controversies.

  • Will Supremo TSC Boss Nancy Macharia Retire Or Extend Term In Office As She Clocks 60

Will Supremo TSC Boss Nancy Macharia Retire Or Extend Term In Office As She Clocks 60

Confusion is rife as to when exactly the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Secretary/CEO, Dr. Nancy Njeri Macharia would be leaving office following two sets of rules in the Public Service.

The Commission extended her term in office for another five years in June 2020 meaning that she is supposed to vacate office in June 2025, but a circular released by the Public Service Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa in February this year puts a new spin into the fate of the fiery TSC boss.

In February 2023, the government warned its relevant authorities against extending the service of public officers who have already attained the retirement age, with the CS reminding the Public Service Commission (PSC) that the mandatory retirement age for all civil servants is 60 years and 65 for people living with disabilities.

Consequently, Jumwa suspended all requests for extension of service presented to her table and also revoked the existing cases in a move she stated, would open way for proper succession management within Public Service.

The mandatory retirement age was reviewed by the government from 55 years to 60 years on April 1, 2009 while in November 2020 the PSC turned down requests from a number of civil servants who had requested for extension of service from 60 to 65 years.

With the new Government directive, the question is; will Dr. Macharia vacate office on the basis of the mandatory retirement age of 60 years or will she complete her term which was extended to June 2025?

Dr. Macharia will attain her retirement age of 60 this year, considering that she was born in 1963. Due to the lack of clarity on this matter, speculations are currently gathering steam within the teaching fraternity and TSC headquarters.

Dr. Macharia rose to the helm of TSC after taking over from her then immediate boss Gabriel Lengoiboni who retired in June 30, 2015 after holding the position for a good 11 years. Under her predecessor, Macharia had been serving as the Head of Teacher Management, a powerful docket that calls the shots within the teaching service.

Upon completion of her first term in 2015, she was swiftly awarded another mandate of five years despite opposition from stakeholders and educationists who were uncomfortable with what they considered her unpopular policy decisions.

Some of her controversial policies include the delocalization of teachers which almost broke teachers families but later repealed by Parliament last year, Career Progression Guidelines (CPG) for teachers introduced in 2018 which replaced the Scheme of service on teachers’ promotion.

The CPG later led to introduction of the Teachers Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD) which is an online appraisal of teachers that broke the relationship between the Commission and the then Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Wilson Sossion.

She was at one point blamed for being a force behind the wars between KNUT and Kenya Union of Post primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) between 2018 and 2020 when the then KNUT and TSC disagreed on various policies especially the implementation of CPG on promotion of teachers, rolling-out of the current Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) and the implementation of the 2016-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Nancy was also at the center of weakening of once powerful unions, KNUT.

It is the TSC boss who issued KNUT with a termination notice of the recognition agreement with the teachers Union.

In the letter, TSC boss Nancy Macharia had notified the National Labour Board that KNUT had plummeted below the number of members as noted in their 51 years agreement.

“The Kenya National Union of Teachers does not have the simple majority of unionise employees under the employment of the Teachers Service Commission as at November 4, 2019,” reads part the letter as quoted by local media.

This is happened just days after de-registering the then KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion from the teaching fraternity. The termination of Sossion was gazetted by the embattled Nancy Macharia.

This drew sharp criticism from many.

    Supremo

Nancy’s authoritarianism was also exhibited after the weakening of KNUT and emergence of National Teachers Pressure Group (TPG) an outfit that has become a target of TSC’s merciless anti-union tactics.

TPG led by their chairperson Martha Omollo have become victims of a TSC punitive teacher transfer scheme aimed at TSC critics and teachers’ unions. Mrs Omollo was transferred from a Nairobi school to a Trans Nzoia County school. Mrs Omollo was transferred when she became too vocal against the TSC management. This was Nancy’s way of silencing her and other members.

When they challenged the teacher’s medical scheme terming it frustrating, they were hit with transfer letters.

“TSC under Nancy Macharia has demonstrated its vile commitment to the destruction of teachers’ union through unfair labour practices and outright evil tactics that now include the transfer of teachers ostensibly to far-flung, hardship destinations. The situation at the TSC must be called out for what it truly is; a reign of terror.” Citizen TV’s Linus Kaikai at the time addressing the problem during a broadcast.

Insiders say Macharia has been enjoying a ‘well-greased’ relationship with the insurance firm to let go the contract that has also currently been advertised for renewal.

Under Nancy Macharia, TSC have previously been portrayed unfavourably by critics. High-handedness, impunity, condescension, egotism, unresponsiveness, harshness, and oppression are among the attributes exhibited in the TSC’s management.

She is the 9th Commission Secretary and CEO after Jesse Muhoro (1967 to 1974), James Kamunge (1974 to 1977), Duncan Mwangi (1978 to 1980), Joseph Lijembe (1980 to 1982), Mr Jackson Kang’ali (1982 to 1998), Benjamin Sogomo (1998 to 2003), James Ongwae (2003 to 2004) and Lengoiboni (2004-2015).

  • UDA ahead in Kingi succession race

UDA ahead in Kingi succession race

United Democratic Alliance is fast becoming the party to beat as race to succeed Kilifi governor Amason Kingi takes shape. The party linked to the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto has already identified the fiery Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa as its favorite candidate to take over from Kingi who will retire in August 2022.

Jumwa joined Ruto’s camp after ditching ODM party which sponsored her to parliament in 2017. She is facing criminal charges but still remains the candidate to beat after other aspirants including former Labour CS Kazungu Kambi and Kilifi North Mp Owen Baya chickened out.

Kambi who was appointed the board director at National Land Commission is now contemplating going for a parliamentary seat after debate heightened on academic qualifications. Other than questionable educational background, Kambi is also financially limping to fund a gubernatorial campaign.

Jumwa, the self professed iron lady of Kilifi politics has obtained a leadership and governance degree from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Kambi who once served as Kaloleni Mp will keep off a male dominated race that has also attracted Devolution CAS Gideon Mung’aro, Kilifi speaker Jimmy Kahindi, Amb. Dan Kazungu, Magarini MP Michael Kingi, former Kilifi agriculture chief officer Baha Nguma and Dzombo Mbaru. The current Kilifi senator Stewart Madzayo who was elected on ODM ticket has also kept the electorate guessing if he will elevate himself to the county’s top seat or not.

Jumwa only sees Mung’aro and Kazungu as possible threats but considers Kahindi an underdog who must be wished away. Both Mung’aro and Kambi who had unsuccessful runs in 2017 when they garnered 54,547 and 44,470 respectively against Kingi’s 218,686 votes.

The vocal lawmaker has bagged Kilifi North’s Owen Baya who has been associating with UDA openly and supporting her quest to be the next governor of Kilifi County. Baya will defends his parliamentary seat as ODM remains desperate to field Mung’aro who ditched them for Jubilee in the run up 2017 polls. Both Mung’aro and Kilifi county assembly speaker are desperate for Kingi’s endorsement to take on Jumwa.
