A judge has ruled in favour of the media in the Fidel Odinga property tussle. This is after the family moved to seek the court to bar media from covering the proceeds arguing it was violating their privacy.
Justice Muchelule Said the media have every right to report on the case as it was brought in to an open court, so long as they don’t mention the children.
The family is embroiled in a family battle after the Odingas accused Ms Lwam of sidelining the twins that Fidel sired with another woman. The judge also ordered for a DNA test on the twins allegedly sired by the son of ODM leader Raila Odinga’s son Fidel Castro Odinga to confirm their paternity further directing family members to cooperate during the extraction of blood samples among other requirements.
Fidel Odinga died without a written a will and had acquired several properties that now sit at the centre of the dispute, Lwam claims she would only include the twins in the estate after they are proven to be Fidel’s.
Properties in question are their Karen’s Tipuana Park home, two pieces of land in Kisumu and one in Kajiado, Axum Investments Limited shares, Ambesa Investments Limited shares and four vehicles.
The case will be mentioned on November 13.
