Stolen Car Returns Overnight with Apology Note No CCTV Footage Found

Residents of Lang’ata Estate in Nairobi woke up to an unusual sight this week when a stolen car mysteriously reappeared in its original parking spot—clean, untouched, and carrying an apology note on the dashboard.

The incident has puzzled the vehicle’s owner, his neighbors, and even the estate’s private security team, especially since no CCTV footage shows how the car came back.

The car, a white Toyota Premio, was reported missing last Saturday evening. Its owner, a middle-aged accountant named Philip, had parked it outside his apartment after returning from a family dinner. According to his report to Lang’ata Police Station, he locked the doors and activated the alarm system before heading upstairs.
