McDonald Mariga’s woes continue as now a voter has moved to court seeking orders to have the Jubilee candidate from contesting in the Kibra by-election.

The voter from Kisumu also wants the court to suspend the by-elections indefinitely. Bernard Ongir, a Kisumu voter claims the electoral commission cleared Mariga to run under unlawful circumstances.

Listing the Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and Mariga as respondents, the voter filed the petition under a certificate of urgency.

Bernard wants the court to suspend the Kibra by-election until IEBC corrects alleged anomalies that have led to the inclusion of Mariga in the by-election.

Kisumu High court Judge Fred Ochieng transferred the case to the Constitutional and Human Rights Division court in Nairobi.
